Still think they got a bit much going on designwise (swoosh and all that) and the tapering sole on the photo from the back looks kinda dangerous but they got that react insole so that'd be a plus for the shoes.....

found some bruin reacts yesterday so i might be biased towards the insole but i think the bruins are underrated!

Wonder if anyone's gonna mix and match the insoles on the Cortez and make their own colorways. Guess you could take out the react insole and put in a thinner one and your ankle would be cupped in better. Sure less padding but plenty of shoes have less padding and they're fine.

Jordan 4 SB sounds good on paper but price point and practicality just don’t line up. My understanding is that the reason skaters skated in Jordan’s and dunks long before SB was because they were always in the bargain bin or weren’t super expensive. It’s just funny to see how that has reversed so much

AJ4's are too expensive to skate in, and no one but pros and IG influencers will actually do it. It would probably be the most cushioned and supportive cupsole out today by a mile, though. I know skate shoe designs are generally moving in that direction already, but hopefully this furthers the trend of brands putting out shoes with full length midsoles, proper cushioning/support, etc.

I've never had 4's before, but I've had 3's, and I think they'd skate great if you took the time to break them in first.

I skated the 2016 white cement 4’s a couple years ago. They skate good once you get that side wall flexing aka break them in. Y’all ooze broke boy insecurities. If you like the shoe buy it, skate it and move on. If you think 200 for Jordan’s is a lot just go buy another pair Blazers or Vans. Jordan’s always been expensive. 35 years ago mufukas were buying them on clearance…y’all can’t compare these things it’s not realistic to where we are at in 2022. That being said, I’m not a fan of triple black sneakers so this sample is a big pass BUT the colorway that’s actually releasing is like the pine green 3’s but on a 4 if any of you know J’s.

I like flat laces but think they look better always over rather than classic dunk over under under under etc. Do dislike reds with gums tho and especially don't like the white lining. With a white sole ok but would still prefer matched the red

They look like they made an SB Dunk for DSW with the flat laces, white lining, de-puffed tongue, embroidery(?) around the top eyelets, and the weird tag on the tongue. Colourway is ass also. I know we all say we want Dunks easily available all the time, but if the one you can easily (if that's what they mean by 'in-line GR') is made to be intentionally lower quality or worse looking, they can keep it.

Tongue is still puffy. Product shots on sb dunks usually have them with the laces pulled really tight and the tongue is compressed a bit because of this and they fold the tongues down. Just loosen them up and the tongue will pop out puffy like normal

Nothing like OG dunks though, which may arguably be a good thing. Put on some old OG dunks the other day with crazy puffy tongues. Like most shoes of the day, that was not the way. Plenty of people who even prefer dunks with the slimmed down construction, ie Ishod.
