Damn that was so fucking crazy, they got down while they were here. Edit was amazing, everything was top notch from the music, editing, song, skating, etc. Brings back fond memories of getting to skate with them. Watched Viviens last line go down in person, couldnt believe he was even skating that spot, that diamond top metal shit is so hard ollieing onto and maintaining speed. And hell yeah on Leo's first line I setup that garbage wallie and we were skating it together before I dipped out, didnt get to see the bs blunt powerslide boardslide fakie...looked crazy. Cant believe people are managing to talk shit on these guys, its mind blowing. Seriously underestimating all these dudes if thats your opinion.

magenta is sick, jimmy and soy are amazing. idk about leo valls, not trying to hate, but the dude just grinds my gears

I don't like how everyone seems to worship the dude. ? I like his skating, and think it has it's place but both him and his fans go overboard with it at times.

Leo's just not that good really BUT he is interesting though.

And at a time where everyone is good and relatively few people are interesting that's worth a lot.

To say there aren't many interesting skateboarders is absolutely ridiculous.  Moreover, there are lots of really interesting skateboarders that don't resort to riding up a bank to fakie to retain that image.

Skateboarding is freedom. There are no rules, only the industry says you have to do it like this or like that. Skateboarders need to be more open minded if they want to create something interesting. powerslides and one foot powerslides are super dope and exists since forever. Skating spots that are not spots is super dope. This video is the perfect exemple of it. Haven't been that hyped in a while.

By the way, Vivien Feil is the owner of Magenta and has an interview on a french website where he talks about all of this, good read:

when colin (i guess?) held on to leo holding on to the taxi i giggled like a small girl, so good.

for this whole clip-thing they have going on the concept is really awesome. if they did a full-length video like that i have to admit that i might get a little bored at some point.

so stoked that small euro brands are stirring up so much interest in america.

LOL at whoever questioned Vivien Feil's contribution.  He is easily the most talented skater on that team.  Top notch ripper.

As someone who back Magenta as hard as any company, I still fail to see what Vivien Feil brings to the party.
He and his brother are the owners of magenta

psyched to see Connor Kramerer, Alex Fogt, Ryan Barlow and Kenji Nakahira up in there.. dudes are always staying busy. most of the Open guys will, i think, have full parts in the upcoming Mandible Claw video. and hopefully more Open stuff soon!.

we're trying. but yall keep buying Magenta boards instead of Open boards!  :P :P :P ::) ;D

If you can make "easy tricks" look that good, you must be doing something right

I would have liked to see more of Jimmy though, he's definitely my favorite on magenta

Not to be a downer or anything, but I'm kinda disappointed in the lack of technicality.  Jake Johnson proved that you can have a tech/gnar part filmed in NYC.  This video is on some BobbyP 50-50 grinds on cellar doors with flat ground kickflips thrown in for good measure.   With the vast amount crazy spots, I'm really surprised that it was just all about pushing and ollies.  Even a city like SF where spots are scarce come more correct.  Videos from there keep pushing boundaries with what little they have available, why not this vid from Magenta?

I don't know, do i just not get it or something?

That's definitely a lot more enjoyable than I remembered.  It always seems like Leo and Soy have a lot more footage in recent videos though.

I don't know, do i just not get it or something?
You and a bunch of other people.
If the slides, footplants and ollies bore you, find another clip to watch. I don't expect to find something I like in every video made.
This isn't about progressive skating or exploiting every spot, it's an aesthetic and approach to skateboarding. It's not understood by most and shouldn't be.

Words of wisdom right here. I'd rather watch this than see the newest kid skating the biggest rail or the biggest stair set.
