And I just received a copy of Alex Calder's TIME EP in the mail that just dropped this week on green vinyl! - big thanks to the shoegaze discussion on SLAP for posting the song "Suki and Me."
This thread is beyond rad. I am an avid collector of vinyl and cassettes. In my area, we have the best record store around, Doubledecker records. The owner seriously gets the craziest stuff in, its completely mind blowing. Go in there on any given day and you can find an original "In My Eyes" by Minor Threat or the first pressing of Teen Idles self titled on Dischord. And of course he gets in plenty of The Velvet Underground, Joy Division, Wipers, Flipper, DEVO, Echo and the Bunnymen, Wire, and newer stuff like Grass Widow, Thee Oh Sees, Pissed Jeans, etc. I spend two to three days of my week there, hanging out. Recent purchases include:
Joy Division "Closer (original pressing, promotional copy)
DEVO "New Traditionalists (Original Pressing)
Green and Wood Self titled (Ethan Fowler's band)
The Monochrome Set "Strange Boutique (Reissue)
Void 7 inch (original pressing)
The Dream Syndicate "Days of Wine and Roses" (Original pressing)
Your shop sounds so great, nice variety. I'm also psyched that you're also stating whether it's an original or repress. Most people that I know don't seem to care either way.
My shop only has vinyl from the 60s, 70s, and 80s - which is great and all because I love 60s/70s rock, but I have to go elsewhere to purchase new releases...
Keep the great posts coming though. As always, it's great to see all of the interest in vinyl. And it's always great to see new pick ups from everyone.
