I'm looking to buy a turntable and some speakers.
something like this

just a plain turn table

and I'm wondering if like 2.1 speakers would work well with them

Any recommendations?

What are your guys' set ups like? What gear do you guys recommend? *Not looking for anything crosley*

nothing's been the since same

really stoked on ZK. been searching a while, and found it today for about half the price people usually pay.

the speakers are kind of shit, but should work ok in an office environment.  if not, you can always run an a cable from the RCA out into another pair of speakers

hey Pica, you're treading in French territory with that Rita Mitsouko LP!     ;D

as for me I had a really good day at a record fair last weekend. lots of latin shit, stoked! all these were cheap, from 2 to 7 euros, except for the Bad Brains reissue. but I just had to have Rock for Light, couldnt resist.....

no I wouldn't really consider Stereo Total french, they're not well known out in Frog land. I had to look them up actually.
If you like Les Rita, give Les Negresses Vertes or La Mano Negra a listen! Same time period pretty much.

On a side note, I LOVE clear vinyl. Looks great and always seems to stay clean for some reason.

It's early 80's, but Metal Urbain is a must listen as well !

Last purchase:

The Reverb Conspiracy Volume 2 2xlp
A compilation of great garage/psychedelic bands from all over europe.

It's even better than the first volume.

birthday haul

A Saucerful of Secrets is ACE. Very hard to find. I can't seem to find a copy in person...

I'm going through my records today and looking to unload most of the lot. I don't have room for a record player anymore, and I could use some extra cash.

Are you selling your albums online..?

I just set up a system for myself this year and have built up a small collection of early to late 90's rap (Illmatic, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Low End Theoy, De La Soul is Dead, The Chronic, Enter the Wu Tang, Slim Shady LP, and The Blueprint). Thankfully my Dad is also an audiophile so i have access to 100's of classic rock vinyls by the band, bob dylan, eric clapton and many others. So much better than listening to crappy MP3 quality shit.
