best and worst vegetables
« on: April 01, 2013, 06:40:28 AM »
no, I'm not taking about human vegetables, though maybe that would be a better thread.

so, what are your favorite and least favorite vegetables?

I love most of them, but my favorites would be carrots, peas, (baked )spinach, Brussels sprout, lentils and white asparagus.

Fennel can fuck right off though!

carrots are probably my favorite. I've been trying to eat healthier leafy greens instead of just lettuce. Can't get into kale or  some of the others, but I like raw spinach.

Honestly I've never been a big spinach fan, but maybe I'm just cooking it wrong or something, how do you guys do it?

Wash that shit and use it in burgers and sandwiches instead of lettuce, it's better than lettuce.  don't fucking cook spinach its gross.

This isn't the 90's anymore. ESPN, Nike and Mountain Dew are Big Brother, Es and beer. Time to slip into some comfy New Balances and head towards old age.

Lotus Root is awesome if you know someone who can cook it up just right... but if you cook them brash and carelessly they taste like soap

Down with pretty much everything but cauliflower. okra and artichokes are both awesome and don't get enough love
also if you read my whole facebook timeline from back in 2007 then this will also prove that magic is real.

I hate green beans and tomatoes.

I love bell peppers though-especially red, yellow, and orange (green are ok).  I'll eat them like an apple.

Being a vegetarian, I think I like the majority of vegetables, but the ones I dislike, I downright despise.

Peas and eggplant are fucking vile.  Greens- like mustard or collard are gross too.  It's just fucking sloppy mulch- and before anyone says it, I lived in the south for a decade and I just couldn't hang.

There are a couple that suck unless they're prepared correctly (okra and cauliflower) but the ones I listed suck no matter what.

Not to be one of those people, but how can you hate peas? They taste like water.

I freaking hate tomatoes unless they are heavily processed, crushed and cooked. Otherwise they are red gross mush.

Potatoes are the king of vegetables. cook them a million different ways and they are always delicious.
