Amazing tricks no one seems to talk about/remember
« on: July 11, 2013, 04:31:36 PM »
Tricks that blew your mind but people never mention or that didn't have as much impact as you thought they deserved.

One that comes to mind is Cory Kennedy's switch heelflip late shuvit down a double set in, I think, some Nike tour video.

Also, In Rodney vs Daewon Round 2, Shiloh Greathouse does a fakie backside nosegrind switch varial heel out.  I always thought that was insane and really ahead of its time.  At 0:23 here.

Any more?

Nyjah did a switch bigspin fs board on a pretty hefty rail in his rise and shine part that was just tossed in somewhere in the middle. I thought it was pretty crazy.

P-Rod got him back by getting his pro shoe on Nike first. Koston is bitter about it to this day.

Steve Olson's destruction of hubba hideout in tentacles of destruction. 180 nosegrind switch fs shuv. 180 nosegrind switch BS shuv. Bs 180 nosegrind. Bs 180 nosegrind 180 out. 1993!

The kickflip he does in the bowl has always stood out to me, perfect flick, perfect catch, hood comes on mid-air comes back off when he lands.

I'm pretty sure that was a regular big spin front board by chase webb but I could be wrong

I'd say that way more gnarly tricks get forgotten rather than remembered. Probably because there's so much insane skateboarding footage everywhere.

But no one I've spoken to about it remembers Rodney Mullen's impossible nose manual front foot impossible out in round 3. That trick is fucking insanity.

Hey, that shit was so easy and so gross. Street grabs too, they're like such a dork trick, particularly when done down a huge set and tweaked.

That would be a funny joke if P-Rod hadn't done so almost a decade earlier. If it had been neck and neck like the trick then it would be funny

Not to take away from any of the shit that has went down there recently, but any of the shit that went down over Wallenberg back before a ramp was used is fucking insane!  Pushing at it as fast as I could was tough to clear from the 3rd step at the time I was there, forget about the top!

If nobody remembers the trick, how would they know to post it here?

This always blew my mind how nonchalant it was. Greg Lutzka fs 360 kf on flat in a line.

It's just so sick because all you see is 360 flips in the middle of a line. This guy just stepped it up and nobody followed because they can't do the trick.

line starts at 6:59

The multitude of 20+ stair grinds that went down in the last decade. I still want to see the footy of Steve Nesser's 40 stair 50-50.

Anyways,

The fakie fs flip manual, 180 down a three stair to switch manual by Koston in Fully Flared. One of the craziest combo's I think I've ever seen...

Also, the trick he did at 1:42, whatever you'd call that.

Like a 50-50 but his trucks were under the bench, fucking strange

This is just too unfuckwithable to not be talked about it.  It was stylish and bolts too, no weeble wobble here at all....

he did a 360 flip nose blunt on a decent sized rail in the middle of this part. i havent seen anyone do that trick on a street rail besides koston in year right.

Leo's fs 50-50 ollie lipslide at 1:52. They sorta put it in there with no slow mo or care, totally slipped by everybody and it was just as progressive as the 50-50 up the rail.

Also the trick at 9:26. Dude is on it.

Everything Flo has done is never talked about outside of the Slap forums. It's a damn shame.

Antwan's switch frontside flip over that double set rail in his baker has a deathwish part. It was filmed fisheye but I think it would've looks way more impressive from a long-lense angle. That set ain't no joke! His Fakie double flips down sets are kinda slept on as well
