How many skate shoes have bit Jordan designs?
« on: July 13, 2013, 09:35:05 PM »
Some shit I've noticed for a while now and found it pretty ironic. If yall know of some more designs post em in here.

We'll start with the obvious. Dunks & Jordan 1's

Koston 3's & the Jordan 12's (low top version)

Jordan 11's & Axion Mijo's

Jordan 5's & Emerica Hsu's (pretty much a dunk toecap with the whole back half of the 5's)

Jordan 4's & the P-Rod 2's

Supra has taken various bits & pieces from the Jordan 6's

Anyone know of any more?

The sal 23 is a bit jordan but just the number, but the SLB and the IXs

The Ellington Avengers and Ellington's are also Jordan-esque

Braydon is awesome, but when that shoe came out, I just couldn't get into em, that color especially, it reminds me of vomit.
This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Skateboarding is nothing but a game to find the right fits to appear like you're a proportional human being instead of a midget or a giant.

Rather than these shoes "biting" Jordan's I think these designs are more so inspired by them

I had those very same ones back when they first came out. They skated pretty damn good too they definitely had that early 2000's "puffy shoe" feel.

Umm your first example is wrong, the Jordan 1 is actually a Dunk rip off. Michael Jordan designed his first shoe off of the Dunk.

Actually, he designed the AJ1 off the Nike Air Ship & air force ones, and then Nike made the dunks for use by college basketball teams. They both first came out in '85.

Quote
Nike invited Michael Jordan to be its advertising endorser, a significant investment that affected the global basketball shoe market. Nike used Air Force 1 as the original prototype for the first pair of signature shoes for Jordan, the Air Jordan One. Soon all of the top college teams were strongly urged to have their own team shoe, which led to the Dunk.

According to the hard cover Air Jordan Collectors Book by Nike that I have in my parents house, Michael Jordan took a look at the Dunk prototype and basically changed the sole, the lace protectors and the toe cap as well as contouring the feel so it would stay on your foot better. I've read what you put up top too, that is incorrect.

That's cool I'd always thought the dunks & the AJ1's had a similar relationship as the janoski's & the team editions. Did the dunks still get officially released after the Jordan's tho?
