hahaha, "propane shop". i'm originally from new mexico, right by the texan/old mexico border, and yes, it is that bad. there were three main subtypes of youth:
1. ese's/chollos - mexican gangsters, surprisingly usually not as bad as:
2. superhicks/cowboys - always up for a "rompin'"
3. jocks/the varsity team - have crossover potential with the first two groups.
skaters were the lowest of the low, and sorely outnumbered by any of these groups. trust me, it sucked. for a few years, during the low point of skating's popularity in the early-mid 90's, i was the only skater in my city. skating by yourself is occasionally fun, but loses its luster pretty quickly. also, the number of girls into skaters was pretty damn low.
