Also they all do this one weird arm thing where they skate all slumpy and kind of hold their leading arm with their elbow close to their body and their forearm at a 90 degree angle to their torso, not sure where THAT is coming from but they ALL do it.

No, I think skateboarders are trend setters. High fashion is always trying to "create" (guess) the next hot thing, whats hot in the streets. Skaters are literally in the streets so we just live it. I don't think skateboarding is dictated by fashion I think skateboarders dictate fashion.

to an extent you are right but people who dont skate generally dont give a fuck about skating and you are only so interested and notice skate fashion because we are all skateboarders the general population really does not want to wear dickies dickies are just good skate pants
