Does anyone live in Kingston or the surrounding area? If so are any decent skate shops there at all?

there was one downtown, but last i checked, it had closed up about 2 years ago.

i heard the owner had reopened, but i havent been back to check for awhile.  i remember they did have it in the phonebook under skateboards. so you should be able to find it if it's still around

in terms of spots though,  queen's university is pretty fun to skate, and isn't a bust as far as i know

im at queens, and ive got a place there, though im staying in toronto lately...

aside from west49 in the suburban mall, there is only one shop:  http://bighouseskateshop.com/

its a university town, so they are mostly about clothes, but they have a decent selection of decks, shoes, vids, etc.  a good mix of stuff: same people behind 'top of the world' in ottawa, ive heard.

if you have any questions about kingston, just shoot me a message...   oh, kingstons not much for skating, but theres a few decent ledges at queens, if theres no snow and ice.  if you are driving out from toronto, let me know-- i can tell you here there is an 80 foot long smooth, concrete bank to ledge setup between the two cities.

I'll just be flying in from Vancouver for christmas with the family so there probably won't be much skating to be had unfortunately. Thanks for your help though.

okay, i found a little clip that shows the spot several times:

http://media.putfile.com/hearbeats-remix

its called bayside secondary school, and its in quinte west (between trenton and belleville).  ive skated it a few times in the summer, on the way between kingston and toronto, and its a lot of fun.  looks like it isnt skated too often.

not sure if everyone in southern ontario knows the place, but oh well, im new here

couldnt find my pics of the school, so did a bit of online detective work...   i read somewhere about the 'blue tile' video having some stuff at the school too.
