Core Brands vs Non Core skate companies
« on: August 12, 2013, 10:28:05 PM »
Since you guys are super smart on here can you guys tell me which brands are core and non core?

I imagine there are few companies that are just big enough but still get universal respect.

a chick with a hairy vag is like driving a car with no floor mat. you walk in the car and think "whoa, this is different, i'm not used to this." but you still put the keys in the ignition and it gets you to point A to point B

Some old dude with a Ramones T-Shirt at a skatepark told me that Zumiez, Walmart, and McDonalds are not core.  I saw the dude spit on teenager who was scootering in front of him too so I think that proves he's a reliable source.

Ethical treatment of riders... no energy drinks used in production...  free range skateboards... nifty music and fire island vibes... maybe someone should start a Whole Foods of skateboarding that only carries "core" shit.

Or just accept that they are all capitalist pigs down deep.

irony.

There is no such thing as core. There are real skateboard companies, and bullshit conglomerates that are trying to make a quick buck off of skateboarding. The term "core" comes from these conglomerates in their attempts to understand and categorize skateboarding.
Example- Nike is NOT a skateboard shoe company, they are just trying to make a quick buck off of skateboarders by offering a skateboard shoe line.
Lakai IS a skateboard shoe company. They don't make anything else, they are owned by skateboarders, and they will rise and fall with skateboarding
Adding "core" is a good way to pretend that its like some special type of thing. Its not. "Core" skate companies are the ONLY skate companies
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”
I quit skating for a time due to piling out
