DJ is fucking dope.  With all of the talent out there I don't think he's quite full-am status at present, but I know he could be.  For those who say it's more than just about the skating (as far as why Spanky get's the hookup over DJ,) it's not like DJ's some unsociable hermit.  Chill ass dude, working man, likes his weed, handles shit on the weekends.  Watching DJ skate a skatepark box or a fifteen stair in person is mesmerizing.  Super consistent, the most stylish tricks, unreal pop.  I'm not sure why this is a contest though.  I like Spanky as well.  Based on the defense of him by obvious loyal fans in this thread, it's safe to say that regardless of his productivity Spanky is still a fairly marketable skateboarder.  I could go either way on this issue.  Drop his name, flow him product like Mariano over the last ten years, and if he decides to get gnarly again, boom, pro board and shoe.

Spanky isn't just battling little nagging injuries. He tore his ACL and had major surgery. There are pro football and basketball players who suffer the same injury and access to way better rehabilitation training, but they still don't come back the same as they were before. The sooner you can understand that, easier it will be to appreciate all of the stuff he's still able to do. I doubt he's worried about getting dropped from Baker. He's still sponsored by RVCA and Skull Candy. I wouldn't be surprised if both of those companies give him more money than Baker either

Dude has been on dead weight status for about 8 years, he had some flickers of hammerage in stay gold but nothing besides that, way back I was in love with the this is skateboarding part but baker came around I just felt like the skating wasn't up to par , he's been hurt for a while and my heart goes out to him for that but if it's over then it's over, he can still chill with Reynolds and all them on a homey pass but as far as like a main rider then that ship has sailed

Lenoce, Braydon, and Heyl got cut from Baker? Has this been confirmed? Heyl is fucking annoying so I'm okay with that, but why Braydon and Lenoce?

Froggy.  Dude is SOOOO underrated, got style for miles.  But, he's always being outshined by Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat and even that bitch Darla, fuck that shit, Froggy is boss.

Skateboarding is the only "sport" where people think they're entitled to respect and a paycheck long after their flame has burned out.  Pretty silly if you ask me, but the joke's on those who support companies who cling to crusty old washouts inside of giving the next solid dude a chance at moving up.   Just remember, kids, for every Spanky that stays on the dole, there's a hard-working motherfucker who SHOULD be making a living at skating who is putting in hours at your local coffee shop just so he can keep on keeping on, despite not getting paid to skate, all because he's not marketable in the same way that Spanky is the Gary Coleman of skateboarding, being 30 and looking like he's 12 years old.

Lichtenstein made a whole career out of one style of rip off painting and so can a skateboarder.  Spanky, Grosso, Castillio, York, Ianuncci, Jessee.... the list goes on and on.   You got a good story, idea or style,  you got it made
