Depends on your definition of "New Wave" as there's a lot of post-punk bands that fit in there. Big fan.

just to scratch the surface, here's a few good ones:
The Sound
Prefab Sprout
Aztec Camera
Television
OMD
New Musik
Orange Juice

Orange Juice - Rip it Up (Official Video) (1983)
New Musik - Sanctuary [HQ Audio]
Aztec Camera - Walk Out To Winter (Album Version)
OMD - Souvenir

Yeah that is true. I am a huge fan of 80's post punk bands. The 80's is probably my favorite era of music.

Television is super rad. Have you listened to any of Tom Verlaine's solo work?

Swell Maps
Wire
DEVO

I have a great encyclopedia pertaining to New Wave artists entitled "Who's New Wave in Music" and it covers a ton of ground. A lot of post punk bands are included along with some No Wave. The book really is covering bands that we part of the New Wave explosion, not just the ones who have a New Wave sound(synthesizers, drum machines, etc)

Documentary (BBC)- Synth Britannia- the history of the synthesizer in 70's and 80's music

thanks for posting this!  amazing documentary

i'm a huge fan of this stuff... be it the minimal synth "new wave" i.e. The Normal, Cabaret Voltaire all the way to the more pop style new wave like Duran Duran (mostly just the first lp).

If you're looking at more minimal synth stuff check out Oppenheimer Analysis, OMD, obviously Cabaret Voltaire
Interaccion - Newton

Hey DISTANT RUMOURS, I just listened to focus on integrity from beginning to end and it's great. I'm admittedly not a major New Wave aficionado, but you've got the sound dialed in as far as I can tell. If you're mixing your vocals that far back intentionally then don't change a thing, but if it wasn't intentional, push them pipes out front. You've got a good voice and your baritone is well suited for this genre.
Great stuff man! I wish I could write music like that.

The first 2 B-52's albums are pretty great, they get unfairly written off sometimes as a novelty act or something. I think a lot of people do the same with DEVO.

Thanks a lot man. Really Appreciate it.

The vocals were indeed mixed like that intentionally. I'm actually a bassist/drummer and was really selfconcious about the guitarplaying and singing.

Glad you liked it.

Here's another one of my favorites although I'm not sure this qualifies as New Wave, but the vocals put it in that category for me.

Great tip. haha yes, I'm a fan of that vocal mix. It's more uplifting than most newwavey things. But it is really cool.

Thanks for the tip!

Post-Punk my friend!

Always wanted to put this in a skate film, specifically in a montage section.

Also this is worth checking out.

Turkish new wave (who knew!) but it's really really good.
