Used to see him in contests at Freestyle.  Everyone was hoping for second.  Always psyched to see the local rippers make it.

everything about this clip was awesome.

Freestyle?? oh man I grew up there, days before they closed I turned 17 and my parents bought "the rules list" off the owner Mark Bennet (remember that guy, rollerbladder) and I still have it in my apartment

Doesn't he own The Pier now?  Or is that someone else?  Freestyle was pretty sick.  Only legit half pipe I've ever skated.  Now all the teams that come through just go to Index and skate the parking lot.  Kind of weak.

Na man, Mark Bennet actually moved to Costa Rica and is a scuba instructor...The Pier is owned by a 19 year old kid and his mom, Beau Beagles and Jackie Andrews...I use to work there so I am not gonna say what I know but index and the pier kinda ended up on rough terms resulting in a few issues...teams that roll through typically go street skating with PJ Medrano of Hombre MFG (hombremfg.com) or they go to the pier (sometimes) or they go to the outdoor parks

but yea Freestyle was the best, I loved the early 2000's x-games type park they had, so much fun
