Servant footwear
« on: October 12, 2013, 04:10:08 PM »
Apparently there's a new Swedish shoe company out there...

Ads, without the actual shoes, had been popping up in some local Euro skateboard mags. And I was kind of hyped.

I liked the European Aeon footwear (For those who don't know: JB Gillet, Florentine Marfaing, Bastien Salabanzi, William Phan, Franck Barattiero, Luy-Pa Sin.) when I was younger so I very was curious.

Got my hopes up, but man, most of the (read: all) shoes look HELLA lame if you ask me.
But some people might need a next "Airspeed".

http://servantfootwear.com/

And our buddy Mike V rides for them...But yeah, whatever.

I like the illustrations that jakke of Polar does for these guys, but that's about where it ends. Shoes look terrible unfortunately.

Very Jesus-y indeed. Pretty sure this is a Christian skate company again.

no christian company, the two crosses form an s for servant. these shoes have good quality but yeah, the logo is pretty annoying and their designs are boring at best.

Too bad it's such a hideous logo, they don't need a giant S on their shoes. They should fix the designs and kick down the logo-age

Servant has actually been around for a little while now.
But now they are coming to America.

As a vegan these shoes are really intriguing to me.

The design of the Dagons are really well thought out and the 4Skin syn. suede is exactly what we vegans need and want all the other companies to use too! I'm tired of Shoe Gooing canvas.

This is a really good review on them - http://veganskateblog.com/shoes/first-look-skate-review-servant-dagon

it' s actually called 4skin synthetic suede? is it any coincidence that the toe cap on that shoe looks like a mushroom tip?

The branding "logo" is just awful. The ads look good if you ask me.

If they slapped another logo on those shoes some designs might get saved.
I'd even design that shit for free for them...

Also quotes like "I ripped my 4skin while skating the other day" are quotes you want to avoid as a company...

Who the hell comes up with a name like that? Seriously.

For the record this brand is a few years old, and I don't ever recall Bastien being on Aeon n(nor JB), He was on Vans then went to Etnies then nothing, could be wrong. He actually was on Lordz wheels but not on Aeon from what I recall.

I've had several pairs of these and I can assure that they're the highest quality tier of skate shoes you can get. Love their attention to detail, actually designing features that improve endurance. Had a pair of these and they are probably my favorite shoe ever.

So yeah, their logo might be iffy, but the shoes are top notch. Legit team aswell, especially Jakke and this guy, John Magnusson:

Fucking legend.
