I'm 35 now and have a list of tricks/lines to film in different cities over the next three years. I still don't have kids but probably will in the next two years or so, and I'm in the final stages of solidifying my career.
I hope I can do the tricks I want to do, at the spots I want to visit, from 35-38. It's not easy this winter because my muscle memory will have been degrading for almost five months, then I need to build it back up again. Plus since I'm getting older, I've noticed slams hurt more and my muscles get sore more easily. There's this whole doubting game I'm already playing which probably won't help.
Not only do I want to film tricks I can do, but I also want to learn new tricks and film those. And I want to relearn tricks. And it may be a dream at this point but I want to learn how to ollie higher. I'm just wondering if my "window" has really passed. I'm not looking to ollie over anything huge, but just improve my technique (which I should've done a long time ago).
So I'm doing what I can now to prepare for spring by stretching, yoga, jumping rope, watching skate vids, anything to preserve the muscle memory I have and maintain my body. Trying to eat healthier. I'm hoping I can still move the way I want to, basically. If not I'll regret it, I know it's not the end of the world, but I'd like to reach these personal goals.
