Who has skated a Heavy board?
« on: November 13, 2013, 09:56:06 AM »
Anyone skated one of these yet? The graphics are sick, and I back Pennswood. I'm thinking about ordering a couple of boards since they are on sale. Wanting to get this 8.38

Skated well over 10+ now. Awesome wood, great shape and some of the best graphics.

Concave is just right in the middle. Not completely flat, not super steep. Nose and tail are pretty similar in size and shape but not exactly the same like some Baker boards I've had.

Well worth it.
Maybe I'm just so cool I wanna die.

Really good boards. The one I had felt very natural to me the moment I started skating it, and I landed a lot of great tricks on that thing. Buy one, you won't be disappointed

On my second one.  They have the best shape, especially on the nose and are some of the longest lasting decks I've had.  I normally go for a steeper concave, but like Will/D00D said, they are just natural feeling right out of the box.

I have had a few, and don't plan on skating anything else anytime soon. Best shape, best graphics, and the goodie bags are too sick haha.

I'm riding an 8.1 right now and its really good, great shape and graphic quality, only thing i'd wish for would be a longer tail.

What did Polar do?

the first polar deck i got was just horrible. felt like a cheap, shitty quality board. last a whole 2 days, but i figured, hey, that happens with boards sometimes. so i got another. another shitty board that lasted a day. before it broke, the top 2 plys were separating from the rest. i could write it off as a bad batch, but i got them months apart, and from 2 different places.

im down for any company that uses pennswood though

Polar switched woodshops nearly every batch early on so who knows where yours were from. I'm riding Pennswood wood at the moment and can verify it's great so Heavy looks good.

Polar all generator all the time everywhere now.  Quality on my polar is definitely above par. Still need to get on a Heavy though. It's them or Sleep next up if I don't get another passport.

Nope. I like a board with some weight to it.

I'd be paranoid of skating fast on a light board.

i usually skate dlx wood but at the time i was skating mostly stereo boards. they come from the same factory as dlx wood but they're lighter cause they press them one at a time, thus using less glue. do i like a carbon fiber board and hollow trucks and core wheels? nah, i like a bit of a tank myself. but this one was notably heavy.
