anybody know some good slide guitar bands or artists? only really heard oldish stuff really. fancied something more up to date.

ok instead how about some bands with a similar sound to the black keys. i just need some new music to listen to.
any reccommendations welcome.

kevin shields use a ptch\dtn tone with a chourous effect and a flanger pedal. i have a bunch of artists amp set ups written down and kevin's is by far the most akward set up, gives m.b.v  that crazy slo mo- sped up sound, too bad he plays a fender jazz master, those guitars are hunks of shite.

slide is is dominant in bluse and jazz, metal slides are used alot in country and western music.

eric clapton, george harrison, and hendrix, are\were great slide guitar players

if you like Black Keys, you might try almost anything on Fat Possum Records,
especially Junior Kimbrough & RL Burnside.

if you want just more raw stripped-down rock and roll,
try The Detroit Cobras or Too Much Guitar.

sweet! cheers loudwizard never thought about trying more fat possum stuff.

its pretty strange i remember being at church and found this RL burnside album in the toilet. that was about 5 years ago. still got it actually. its called mr wizard. shall have to give that a listen. just kinda kept it. oh well.
