Everyone will continue to get a big dick over nighttime NYC edits.

Late shuv return?

Shoelace belts officially go out of style.

Nolan Johnson's budding popularity causes an influx of kids dressing like crust punks. As a result of this Carheart starts marketing overalls and bandannas to skateboarders.

Someone from the Baker/Deathwish/Shake Junt team goes to rehab. A reality webisode series is created to document the experience.

More clips of people hugging and bro-ing out after a trick is landed.

Jeremy Klein and Hook-Ups become relevant again for no particular reason.

How is skateboarding an art?  And what makes you think that people who happen to compete don't consider what they do an art? The age old question is it an art or a sport? I believe it's neither.

In most of the traditionally accepted "arts", competing is often a large part of staking one's claim to the spotlight, especially in "classical" music, which is super similar to how competitive skateboarding works. Standard repertoire of tricks/pieces and the most accurate often wins barring any major stylistic or interpretive issues, if ones art both are imo.

Westgate finally leaves Zoo York, most likely for Toy Machine

honestly i kinda feel like if he left Zoo he'd end up on Alien Workshop instead. i dunno why, but I think he'd be a great fit on there.

Pretty damn hyped if that would happen...

While I agree that it is not just either of these things, it is clearly more of an art than a sport if one were to choose.  Style is such a huge factor in skateboarding and it most often trumps skill.  I would personally call it more of a hobby.

more boards will mimic early 90s graphic styles. dyed veneer decks will become more popular than full graphic decks.

- More Car Sponsors in Skateboarding (think Salazar on Toyota). It'd be funny to see smart car or mini cooper target an urban audience so you can get around a city better to spots and have a better chance of finding parking.

- McDonald's / Burger King / Dominos start sponsoring kids - a collaboration ensues with Mountain Dew making it more widely available.

- A team of "healthy" skateboarding ensues backed by GNC or something - combining weight lifting/fitness/running with skateboarding.

- People like Tyler the Creator and Little Wayne are going to have more impact on skateboarding than actual skateboarders.

- Skate Shops have a harder and harder time trying to stock product because it's too hard to know what anyone like anymore; whether young or old.

- Elissa Steamer ends up somewhere good in skateboarding.

I'd love to see forest in SL but I question whether he has the type of mental fortitude required to do well in that setting. He has the skills, but do you really think his awkward ass has what it takes to land tricks in high-pressure situations with an entire stadium watching his every move? you gotta have a competitive mindset or an intense focus do consistently do well there. It'd be interesting to see how forest stacks up in those areas , I hope he ends up competing there one day
