was that Youness judging? you could tell he thought the whole thing was dumb as hell
Makes me wonder why Youness wasn't in this in the first place, too.

He wasn't trying a 360 body varial. He was trying this trick at the 25 second mark in this video part of myself. I'm actually stoked to see someone else doing it!

Yeah there's another trick I do in that part (bs 360 disaster spin up the 3 stair) I never saw anyone else do until I watched an old Brian Lotti part. Dude has done it all!

yea that joe had some pretty heinous style, youness seemed bummed on the way he was landing his tricks and i dont blame him.. pj handled it all super cool tho, an what stoked me out was how he said he's focusing on "street tricks" at the moment, which must mean he's wrapping up his plan b part hopefully.. also feelin the shaggy look he's rockin reminds me more of early pj.

What the fuck is anyone on Plan B doing? At least you can assume PJ is skating. What are the vert dudes on Plan B doing besides stalling the video release?

The Plan B video was delayed because Danny Way saw Bob Burnquist's mega ramp part and was brought to his knees.

further poof that just because you're good at flat ground doesn't mean you're a great skater.

PJ's choice of light denim and 2002 hair make the pain go away.

EURHGGhhhh, deserved to bail that first tre flip it was hideous.
skating is all about choosing your outfit very deliberately, going out in public. looking super sick. and then riding your board a little bit

That's pretty much how I was expecting these games to go down. A kid with no pop or power cuz he's grown up rallying tricks down those ankle high skatepark ''handrails'' and skating flat doing some stupid double flip and hardflip pivot variations that a pro would never film on the streets.

heheh, that's perfect. i was thinking an irish hoodlum you meet in jail and he always seems to be chewing on something but mcenroe on a day off is prolly more like it. he should've fired his board at the wall whenever he messed up.

'that was not a gentleman's game' lol
Reminds me of the Busenitz/Koston game 'i didn't realize we were at pressure flips already.'
frostman gonna get you Holt, better learn some pressures
i wish Dill was in this

what the fuck are you talking about? koston beat busentiz twice and did a total of 1 pressure flip. there were no other tricks like that.

i'm directly quoting Busenitz from the post-game interview after his BATB4 game vs. Koston. Koston gets him to 'T' with a pressure flip. Busenitz says it after the game, hence the quotation marks around 'i didn't realize we were at pressure flips already.' I'm just saying someone implying that there are unspoken rules regarding what tricks you should do and when in these things is funny. PJ did it, Busenitz did it. Unfortunately I can't find that post-game interview. But yeah, they read the stupid rules every fucking time and it doesn't say anything about 'no ugly hardflip bigspins and shit' so the pros might as well expect such nonsense.

I love the subtle jabs from PJ. "this was not a gentlemans game." "gotta pull out the bigspin hardflips." Then the kid admitted that he couldnt beat him fairly so he had to use tactics. Pretty funny shit. Everybody has tricks other people cant do. I'm sure PJ is not too concerned at this point. Probably has more incentive to film for shoes and the Plannever B video.

it seemed to me that pj was more psyched to lose than to win. it didn't seem to me that those were jabs. i mean, he's fuckin' pj ladd, he doesn't need to stoop to the level of pulling verbal cheap shots at some unknown"joe". plus, i think using "tactics" is all part of the game. it's not a sport, so it's not just "ok guys, kickflip is first, then heelflip, then tre, make sure you do everything in an officially established progressive order. go team!" strategy is part of the game. hence why i think most pros who are known to have crazy tricks like to go through pretty much all the basics first: wear your opponent down with tricks you know you aren't going to fuck up, then go for the kill for the last two letters or so.

sorry for the drunken rant, but that my 2 cents.

youre kind of missing the point. when you play skate, of course you want to win but if the only point of playing was to win you just do a bunch of dumb tricks that you know the other person cant do, e.g., that crappy kid. Playing skate has more to do with doing tricks consistently because it is fun and challenging not because there is some sort of team mentality. in fact the opposite is true, the other guy has the shitty attitude. playing to win instead of having fun. "i know how to beat this guy" yeah, shits lame.

i don't think i'm missing the point at all. in fact, as much as i hate the 'jock' mentality, there really is only one purpose of contests: to win. strategy is a big part of it. but my point was that i don't think pj gave a shit about winning again (similarly to how cole obviously gives halfassed attempts to these latter batb jammies). and maybe he just didn't want to take it three times in a row. possibly out of modesty, possibly because he didn't want to be known as the batb champ of batb champs, or some shit. it may be your attitude with your friends to use the friendly games of skate that you play to focus on consistency, but contests are about wins, nothing more.

PJ lost this game on purpose. Truth is, he hates Steve Berra just as much as everybody else does. If not more. He just couldn't stand to be around the little self important fairy.

Plus, Xenu sometimes chills at the berrics, and PJ HATES aliens.
