Whatever, FA is wack as shit, but as long as i keep getting to see dylan. wave his arms about, this move makes little difference to my life.

If it means more Dylan footy I'm backing it

If their output over the last few months is any indication I wouldn't wait on any new footage from FA.

Fucking Awesome Stoop Kid 2.0 sucks. That FAG isn't the future. Also since when did other SLAP POSTERS not care about pissing ON PEOPLE? Pretty sure every POSTER has had a bout with some questionable GAY BEHAVIOR, RIGHT?

No. Just you Stoop Kid 2.0, just you.

Yeah, because all of the team except AVE and Terp didn't just have full parts in cherry...

That said, is FA really doing anything to push the boundaries in skating?  They've released two series so far: grade school photos of pros and some embossed black and white logo boards.  I'm glad AVE and Dill doing their own company and doing it super small (even if the name sucks), but let's not preten like they're reinventing the wheel now.

I love Dylan's skating but his thoughts are nothing short of laughable.

Out of ALL people, he's talking about not giving a fuck what other people think? As if EVERY single thing he does isn't a calculated move to portray a certain image whether it be his clothing or his skating. You can't be part of a shitty fucking DKNY ad and then come back to the skate world and talk about how raw you are and how much you don't give a fuck about what other people think.

Also, FA>Bianca Chandon. While there are many similar qualities to the two brands, FA at least has some sort of discernible character/image. Bianca is literally like a collage of other people's ideas (he couldn't even think of a name so he used someone's actual name, LOL), I forgot who said it, but somebody on here said something like AO's brand is Tumblr skateboards and he was right on the money.

That being said, I also really like FA's team so far so that's one reason to support. If they started coming out with more product that was cheaper (which is probably never going to happen), I'd be way down with the brand.

There's not really a set-in-stone art direction at FA so the focus appears to be on the group of kids they rounded up. They have an image and fans already from people all around the world. I guess the closest thing it could be compared to is 80's punk zine graphics or something. But even that is only one part of it (the Crass logo etc)

Random stolen ephemera as a skateboard company.

So $32.00 T-shirts, $15.00 stickers, and $90.00 hoodies are the future of skateboarding?

I hope so. That shit is gonna go super well with my $100 made-to-skate Levi's. Fuck yes!

This is exciting!
So stoked he is on FA and not Bianaca.

I feel the same way and have been saying this for months.... FA is what skateboarding used to feel like. It is what has been missing. A 12 year old kid is going to want FA so bad and wear the shirt to school and get in shit..... I just love it.... there are a hundred reasons I love this company. I can;t believe people shit on it. But I am happy they do in a way.... less is more.

This is exactly why a 12-year old kid is gonna want the stuff. Inflated price, limited quantities = total status symbol. It's textbook conspicuous consumption, just like when Rocco started selling pre-frayed humungous jeans in the 90s and kids "needed" to look like their favorite pros, but the jeans were never in stock anywhere and when they were they were super out of your price range.

Sure, skateboarding might need change, or to be shaken up every once in a while, but does it really need more stratification and cool cliques? Who the fuck knows! Not me. I'm just a bitter asshole. Fuck it; go skate.

Don't really care for the FA stuff, their apparel was bad and the graphics are mediocre. I feel like Dylan is kind of acting like FA is doing something extremely different where as there is already lots of rad little board companies killing it and being very unique with shapes, branding and art (welcome, polar...). I would rather give my money to a smaller company that has some real art direction and focus (magenta, Isle, Polar...) than FA with some crappy shock value art that Dill pretentiously throws together thinking he's breaking the mold.

He needs a tissue line with his face embroidered on them. It'd be like the second best thing to blowing him in person

This pretty much.

But like Fongstarr. said, I definitely respect dylan. as a skater (he's probably one of my favorites) and with his choices of sponsors.  He definitely seems to believe in the skater owned & operated buzzwords.  And if that means he models on the side to supplement a great skating career, I'd rather have that.  I honestly don't see why people get so up in arms that dylan. and Alex are so into fashion and are willing to take part in campaigns.

Fucking Awesome is small.  What is "real" art direction?

exactly.
along the same lines as someone mentioned in another post regarding riley hawk never having to take corporate sponsors because he comes from money, dylan can cash in on his handsomeness outside of skating in order to "keep it real" inside of skating.
A negative rep on Slap is a positive rep in the real world.

It is a nice change of pace when a thread with the word "confirmed" in it actually has evidence to back it up.

Speaking of styles and kind of off topic, I saw that Yoon did a tre flip photo session on the Berrics. You can literally tell who has odd style and who has a natural one just from their pics.
