I’ve just started playing Earthbound Beginnings(Mother) on the Switch and I really like it so far. It’s the first time that the game has been officially translated into English.They recently added it to the NES games you get when you pay for the Switch online service. I loved Earthbound(Mother 2) when I played it years ago and if you are a fan of that game then you’ll like this one. There’s something special to me about good games from the 80s. Now we just need Mother 3.

It's also heavily biassed toward games released in the last 5-10 years. You don't see that with movies or books; people will recommend Citizen Kane or Gone With The Wind, but no one will recommend Manic Miner as a "must-play" gaming experience. People in this section are simply listing the gaming cards here they have recently enjoyed playing rather than the best examples of the medium throughout its history. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that; as you said, it's essentially a subjective question of "what are your favourite games," but it doesn't really answer the question.

From 2002 through 2006, Counter-Strike 1.6. I used to play on a server with custom maps made by a man by the name of "Nippers custom maps" when the player count for the game was at its highest. On a snowy Saturday morning during the school break, I was playing the game "de nipperhouse xmas." Previously, more than 50 000 community servers were active at once. I genuinely miss such moments, and I sincerely doubt that anything similar will ever occur once more. At least I still remember things.

I totally agree with you about the bias towards more recent games. It's always great to see people recommend their favorite games, but it would be even better to see more classic games getting the recognition they deserve.
