Picked up an Indy bearing press, after market Indy conical bushings and a set of 54mm Prize Fighters.
Have been wanting the press for a while, xmass present to myself.

i hate hate hate getting bearings out, hurts the shit outta my palm and wrist. how does it work? i wanted to get this ;

I've just always used the axel or the bench mounted bearing press at the shop.  Works for me.

why don't you just use a screwdriver to get them out? gives you the leverage you need to easily pry them out.

but the one they have at the shop doesn't work too well. has any one else used this? im assuming the shop ones really old and over used so i'd like to see how someones experience with this is

its $15 and a bigger bearing presser/puller is $30

You don't just use your trucks, or is that what's hurting your wrists? Not being a dick but it sounds like you're just small or lacking strength.

Edit: I have one of these Reflex tools, it has a bearing press as well, maybe it'll help. I just use my trucks though.

the truck hangar usually does the job for me but have you ever tried to take bearings out/put in in some pig wheels? its a struggle

If you use bearing spacers then that bones bearing tool doesn't work well at all.

Have you tried using a flat-head screwdriver to get your bearings out? I think it's a little easier than using your axles.

Bought a few things over the holidays:

Chocolate's Winnipeg and Toronto boards, the Green Apple X Girl board, and a Shut Tony Manfre pro board.  I don't know if I should skate the Shut board or not, opinions are welcome!  Not pictured are legit Bones Swiss which I'm excited to try out, and a pair of the original Adidas SLR shoes that I'll be skating eventually.

that's what i use...  and i use my feet for the most leverage.

left foot holds down the wheel, and the right one presses down on the flat head screwdriver i've jammed in the bearing piece stuck in the wheel.  i've done this since i'm 14 and it's never once failed me now matter what the wheel is.

riding the aesthetics nostalgia train pretty hard lately. i found this killer denim jacket/chore coat during an ebay crawl about a week ago and it showed up in the mail today, ordered a medium and a large to be safe. best skate-related purchase in a very long time.

same here, except I use the bearing presser end of a relfex skate tool. Works great, even for yanking a bearing out in a similar fashion. It's a bulky tool, but it helps.

Bearing press has a nub that helps remove the bearing from the wheel. Not ideal but still works well.
Just Cruise is great, really digging it. Zach Chamberlin did a great job, really looking forward to his vid., Sprinkles when it comes out!

5BNY is probably my favorite video of the last 12 months.

I'm a big fan of Magenta but felt like a lot of their recent clips have been repetitive and just wasn't into some of the skating (Glen Fox) but watching a full length of the entire team just ripping around Bordeaux reminded me why I liked the company so much to begin with.  It will definitely get some repeat plays

How you liking those Dylan? They really are a decent skate shoe. Last Summer some park hero was giving me shit for skating in them and I told him 'junior, I'm way too old to care about your scene politics'.

I've only worn them around the house but they feel really comfortable and everything about them is really high quality.

They were kind of an impulse buy and don't really go with how I normally dress so I might just use them for work or events that require something nicer than regular shoes.

My Scumco has been eaten by the the snowpacolypse I think, no updates or feedback from SC or Fedex so I picked this up yesterday while I wait:

Alien Workshop 'Visitor' 8.125"x32.13 14.25" WB - actually feels a little bigger than it is yet also just a bit smaller than an 8.25 (which  I guess it is really ;)

Setting it up with some Ti 147s and wheels, want to try something new as I gave my kids my 99a spits due to complaints about vibrating feet ;)

@Xen - that was my favorite 8.125 that i've had as well.  Totally agree that it feels a little bigger than it is.  Nice nose and tail on it

THIS was my perfect board!

usually i get three weeks out of a board but i wouldn'T change it in 8 weeks.

let me know your feedback especially coming of a scumco board.
the nose and tail on that board are almost square, so i guess thats why you feel like it is wider!

have fun with it and let me know how you like it!
i wish my shop had more of those!
