I bought Bones Swiss a couple months ago. I will be completely honest and say that they are no better than any other functioning set of bearings I've ever skated.

It really seems like my Shake Junt bearings are better. They spin for longer, for sure.

Ha yeah definitely!

@Croquet temper Also interested in where you bought the swiss

A reputable skateshop. Maybe the bearings are in the process of working their kinks out. I'm using spacers for the first time ever.

No matter even with spacers, always leave some play.

I helped a guy who always did his bearings up so tight, even with washers, spacers and everything, they still only ran at half speed.  He was adamant they should be that tight, but after I loosened them off a touch, he couldn't believe how much better they ran.

The "Racing" bearings are the only ones that should be done up tight, the ones with the extra inner spacer built in.

Sorry if I talk too much.

After seeing all the glowing reviews on here, I picked up some of the Riptide pivot cups. Worth the $, very good.
do they make them for all types of trucks? Thinking about getting some for my films...

So far every regular type of truck is the same mold for the pivot cups, which Film would fit into as well, but if you are not sure, take them out and compare them to Indy, Ace or whatever others you have (sorry I forgot, but could have easily checked post history).

Some people have sworn they are different, but one shop guy that has stocked them all says they are all the same, so when he sells out of one specific truck brand name pivot cup set, he takes the stickers off others and sells them as required.

They definitely seem like they are better than standard generic after market or stock pivot cups, but I am still yet to see any other than close ups in pics.

Yo, pics?

A local skate hoarder was clearing old boards and I snapped up an old Donny Barley Birdhouse / Natas Kupus re-issue graphic.

HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT.
and i thought i was lucky to have come up on a bunch of usa made trucks off ebay. i seriously have been trying to find, at the very least, an image of this board for years. you are one lucky fucker. a long time ago, i was given this board but for some reason i didnt like it and ended up trading it into my local for a sean sheffey girl deck(also trying to find an image of the deck). to this very day, i still think about that jason dill exp board and what could have been. would it be too much trouble to ask you for some high res images of this board?

Skate very well too. Ordered 2 new pairs that are coming today as well. Anyone who likes blazers should definitely give these a go.

Came for the Donny Barley, left with 2 Tony Hawk reissues:

7.5" and incredibly mellow. All 3 still had the signature BBS alignment marking on the top mounting holes.

Worried about vulcanized. How thick/thin do they feel?

Definitely a Vulc feel. Very thin but not too thin, about like a blazer. The insoles are thicker than blazers and very comfy. I don’t do high impact so I can’t really speak on how they hold up to jumping down stuff. Grippy sole. Very well made and holding up good so far!

I enjoy my EFB, but sometimes I hate how wide it is. For me, I have to crock on the side so the wheels on top like a ledge. Feebles and smiths feel like cheating. I would have got the round rail if the flat wasn't on clearance. Still, its'a solid rail, doesn't wobble, fits in the car.

I recently picked up these

Got my first Quasi from the shop today. 8.375" x 32.25", 14.25 WB. PS Stix and they definitely bend the tape when measuring length cause going straight across, it doesn’t crack 32. I’m excited though.

Oh also some Spitfire F4 Tablets 54mm 99d. It’ll be awhile until I skate them.

My buddy who I skate with regularly has a round rail. Got the EFB  to have something easily portable, and is closer to being a ledge.

I'm not use to the round rail as I just started skating regularly again but I feel like the EFB will be a good stepping stone. Thanks for the insight!

Those things look crazy from the top view.

Do you know how old they are, or roughly guess?  I come up with 2003-2004 for Barley Birdhouse from a quick search.

Also curious how much they cost, but not worried if I never find out.

Bought a brand new complete off some guy on depop for 95 bucks shipped

8.25 sci fi fantasy deck w/ mob
venture 5.6 raw
f4 99 classics 54mm
reds

Not sure I'll have any use for the trucks and extra bolts but the rest of the parts alone are worth the cost.

Yeah roughly mid-2000s when Barley and Suski were on for a brief period. Been combing through old issues of 411vm, i know he had a Pro Setup in there and he was on a Birdhouse deck.

Paid around $70 USD for each one, it was a hardcore collector looking to liquidate so it was fun to talk shop with him too.

I just picked up a bunch of PS Stix decks, decent shapes and good solid boards, by the look of them.

Short wheelbases for the most part too, 8.125 with 14.0 wheelbase on one.

Picked up some stuff this weekend I'm pretty happy about. Baker Reaper for the wall. Some new Thunder 147 Hollows for $30 and new Spitfire 52mm Classics for $15 off FB marketplace. Not the biggest fan of colored trucks but I couldn't pass on that deal, especially for hollows.

yoooo I had the birdhouse one waaay back when.

shit I bought recently:

F4 Classics 52mm
F4 Classics 54mm

Real Mason Gonz oval 8.28
Anti-Hero Classic eagle 8.5

I was actually looking for a Manderson shape, but no dice.
