Got the Shin wheels because I have an addiction to changing wheels. For those that don't know, what sets these wheels apart is that they're the OG formula (read: slimeballs) instead of the elites.
how do you like them? ‘Twas contemplating for my wife’s board but ended up going with F4 97a conical fulls in 58mm. I love Shin but wasn’t sure how OJ quality would hold up.

They're good. Comparing them to the Elite formula, they feel a little more controlled and feel a bit better under your feet. I feel like I'm going a bit slower, but my legs aren't rattling when I hit the crust like I am on elites. I also prefer the way these slide; elites felt very all or nothing to me, but I feel more in control on these.

Will likely pick up all future versions of the Huffer.
[close]

It’s such a sick shape.
Also, it seems to last forever.
Boards of the late ‘80s, very early ‘90s felt like this for me (well I remember the wood being better back when, but that is most likely nostalgia), big shape, concave, steep…could ride those thru wet grass for two months and still ollie.
Anyways, huffer, for me, worked best on 151s vs 159s/169s. Never tried the ace classic 55s. 6.1s would look sick…

I've had a few before along with the Craig Phawt. I use mostly 55s on this shape but sometimes  151/159s. I agree about 80s wood quality but this shape is more reminiscent of 90s shape when wood quality really started to tank. Its been great to ride these shapes with modern wood and concaves but I def agree each one I have had has lasted a good long while.

Finally gave in and am going to give Ventures a try. Got the standard 5.8s for 30 bucks shipped last night. Been riding Indys only for at least the past 15 years but have been eyeing ventures for the past year. Hyped to give something new a try. Hopefully they wont throw me off too much. All the ventures are 30 bucks on zoomiez....and the 6.1 size are only 20 bucks.

It is also great they look like they are back and here to stay.

So sad when you get something that works so well and then they never do another run of that shape.

I re-bought this off eBay.

Long story medium... when I moved to NZ in 2008, I thought I should sell 95% of what I owned first. Regretted selling this almost instantly, especially considering old AWS was basically my favorite thing post-BPSW. Anywho.... seen one pop on eBay here and there but always like $175 or something. Well, just bought it off eBay the other day for $45... ironically it looks like it is the one that I sold. Either way, back at home finally.

I also sold the "visitor" banner (Alien peeking in the window from 1994). Totally regret that also. I used to drop acid and stare at that shit for hours. Aliens freak me out ever since seeing Fire in the Sky

Helped my sister build a board for her daughter on her 13th birthday.

So I built a cruiser/filmer/bad weather board for her for Christmas

1: 1x Polar Sanbongi Astro Boy 8.75"
2: 1x Ace Trucks Classic 55 Polished 9"
3: 1x Ricta Wheels Clouds 78A 56mm White Blue
4: 1x Independent GP-S Bearings Bulk Set
5: 1x Diamond Riser Pads 1/8 inch black
6: 1x Shorty's Hardware 1" Black Phillips
7: 1x Jessup ULTRA Grip Tape Black Sheet 9"
8: 1x Package Assembled

They live in Toronto and I'm in San Diego so I bought it at a local shop near them

I bought this too

Still on my bullshit. The black friday hall is in

For some reason, my snack deck is a long WB clutch board instead of a short WB ps board, so I'm a little miffed with that, but I'll probably still try it just to see what clutch wood is like. Also, I do plan to skate the grimple as is.

Lil jawns - dig the 14" length and double stick tape being standard

Ace hard bushings - no compromise to the turn - perfect for someone 165+ lbs who skates medium.

Bones SPF 81b - perfect for freshly poured slippery concrete parks

How different do they feel compared to the normal bushings though?

Just curious.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Got a Chico stix deck. It’s super tapered at the nose and tail. Is this a mid-90s type of shape?

After some thought, I  think I figured out the source of the extra cost: He is Chico and you should give him money.

It’s honestly not that much more than a regular board. It’s 75$ flat with shipping and grip. I pay a little under 70 at my local after taxes, so this doesn’t feel like a price hike to me.

The last of my black Friday haul hit the door last night. Got a little loose with the spending this year. This picture doesn't include the 2-3 random orders that were place the week before or after the actual sale weekend.

Two more of these might as well get them while they're still cheap:

Best shape I've ever skated, BBS wood too. ~14.4 wheelbase though. Their site has incorrect information.

I bought another ten various Element decks (50% off sale a week before the Black Friday sales) all 8.38 and 8.5 but not one single listing, even on the Element sites, along with the other place I bought them, was correct as far as dimensions and info.

The boards have all dimensions clearly listed on them (which are correct when measured), but I guess no one goes and actually checked them to put up the listing information.  Thankfully they are the dimensions I was hoping for and it is not a big deal to me, but it is still very annoying, especially if someone bought a board thinking it was a bigger 8.5 x 32.2 with 14.5 wb and it was actually a shorter 8.38 x 31.75 with 14.25 wb, which one was.

At least they are all BBS so regardless of anything else, they can get a paint job or sanded back and still be better (and cheaper) than most of the other boards in the blank or medium price range.

That peanuts graphic is pretty cool though.

Picked up some indy 144 Ti trucks. Skated indy exclusively for years before the truck madness pulled me in all different  directions. Feels like home.

Thrasher Angel Dust zine
Golden Hour issues 1-3
Thunder 148’s
Thunder 90a replacement bushings. They’re softer than stock bushings and help keep the trucks loose and pinching
NFG 54 Vee shape wheels
2 different Gonz boards

That’s every skate related thing I bought for Black Friday. Just waiting on my Sleep Dopesmoker snow globe from Third Man Records to finish off everything  I ordered this year
