Continuing my quest for the biggest wheels by scooping some 63mm big heads. I also got some 60mm conical ful- I mean classics...
It's a funny thing with the original urethane (not Formula Four) Spitfire wheels, especially in bigger sizes which have slimmed down a lot from back in the day when they used to be 57 x 36mm to 59 x 39mm wide, as those 63mm are now so skinny, especially the riding surface from new.
The 60mm Classics always were a wonder, eg as said, Classic = round, but they were not quite Conical Full but pretty close, but so well loved by so many people as a big old crust wheel.
Often surprising to see any, but I know they are still around and just down to the shop for ordering preference, as a lot of shops wouldn't touch them.
