How in the world would plasti dip help? If anything that would make it even worse, since plasti dip is kinda sticky when dried up.

i have never used plasti dip but i kinda figured it was kinda like a hardish plastic. guess not
the rail wont just grind. even when i put tons of wax on it and went fast, the tricks just dig into the rail.

You can try to put angle iron on it, but some things just don't grind. Aluminum is a soft metal. That's just how it do.

Plastidip's actually a really soft rubber. You'd want a coating like they got on picnic tables, prob what you meant in the first place.
Started googling it, turns out picnic tables are like $900 bucks!?
So anyway the coating on tables is apparently thermoplastic. Loctite color guard coating is like $160, and i have no idea if it'd grind.

While we're on plastidip- you can use it to coat the jaws of pliers/vice grips to keep them from marring whatever you're working on (works good for avoiding scratches on metal, plastic, etc.)
