It's weird to think I was so bummed in middle school when my mom wouldn't let me get a pair of those and now looking back I'm so grateful for it.

I remember getting a pair of Menace the skateboard brand's jeans and being hyped because menace was cool and stuff. Then all the kids thought I was wearing the JNCO rip off menace brand jeans (the ones that made them change their name to City Stars) and I was so bummed.

I'll admit without shame that I wore big clothes in the 90s; I was 120 lbs in xl shirts and 38" pants. Never had JNCOs though. Not just for the fact the raver culture was a turn-off, I was fundamentally opposed that the pant leg size didn't correlate to the waist size. They looked like exaggerated bell-bottoms.
