Are the powerslide decks the same as Chico's Big Boy? I want to get a big boy for fun, but obviously with Chico not being a rider, they dont' sell his model anymore.

They don’t unless they started in the last few months. They WILL use ps for one offs like the Carroll nc deck and maybe the turner reissue was. I think vu had a ps run for the shop colab they did last year but almost everything else is china

I think that’s what Carl was skating in a recent clip, looks like a fun shape and has 14” wb. Just need advice on truck size

I found the guide on the site to be well done and helpful. Admittedly I’m a nerd for this stuff, but reading some of the ideas behind the shapes was cool.

I find the G027 shape really interesting.
8.25 x 31.75 with 14 wb

Nose is 6.75 but the tail is 6.8

Never seen a popsicle where the tail is (a hair) longer as the nose. I am curious. Any pals here had this shape?

I had a Simon board (Cory graphic) that was listed as 8.25 (tapered to more like 8.125) 14 wb. Last time I felt good on a board. I think it was this shape. Decent amount of flat, worked with all my truck fuckery, but worked best with ace 44s and 56s. Which makes no sense. I think I quit riding it because it looked fucked. I like the way 50s look. I need at least 54s (I think) for the ancient pavements in my area.
Anyways. Board was sick.
Miss the 7.875 pgi. That board was excellent. Mine was hot pink and zumiez as fuck looking. Skated excellent. Got some different sizes of the old wood and they were warped, so I get the criticism of the pgi stuff. Annoyed with myself for not sticking with the ones that worked tho.
I really like Craig's shorter shapes.

I skated the G027 once, was okay but didn’t really enjoy the shorter nose personally. For the other 8.25 I think you guys are referring to the G052, I’ve skated this one twice and I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit. I would like if crail made a more full shaped 8.25 but keep the 14” wb. Too much taper or too short of kicks make slides feel less secure to me.

My friend leaves one of these at my house all the time and I'm looking at it right now
I have skated around on it and really Like it, if I was going to skate 8.25 I'd be looking at one of these

Is the pop secret like....p2/vx/impact whatever? By hook or crook I’d like to pop higher. I really like crailtap shapes, but don’t have high expectations for their tech. Haven’t tried

i skate the g033 with 14.25 wheelbase all the time. tail is kinda square nose is big and round and very little concave. its great with ace and the new krux

Yes, the pop secrets have a full carbon fiber top layer and 6 layers of maple. So a little different than the ones where it's just an insert (impact). I personally love them because i prefer the feel of a thinner deck, but they are very stiff and will wind up getting razor tail long before it loses its pop. Sometimes its harder to get your hardware flush with the top too, due to that carbon fiber layer on top.

I just gripped a Pacheco stamp/postcard deck. I had the normal crail size engraving on the top. But I didn’t pay attention to them to see if anything was different. Stoked to skate it. It’s just gripped and waiting til this uma dies.
