Travelling internationally with a board
« on: June 07, 2015, 06:20:17 PM »
Going on a trip to Spain and Portugal next month. The only city I will have time to skate in is Barcelona, as I will be busy with other things during the other stops on the trip. Barcelona is the initial city I fly into so I was thinking about bringing my board as a carry on and then shipping it back to the US after I head into the countryside.

Does anyone have any experience with this or have any advice regarding the situation?

Hit or miss. Some airlines will let you take it as a carry-on some make you check it in.

As far as sending it back goes, may as well just take your trucks off, throw them in your bag and just buy a new deck for the money you'd spend on shipping.

havent had a problem yet with my board as a carry-on to or from, domestically and internationally. it'd probably help if you had one of those backpacks with board straps. i've been getting away with carrying it through the armstraps of my backpack. once i get through to the terminal i just carry it normally.

I shove it in a backpack, half the board sticking out. Nobody has ever said anything.

I've had problems bringing my board as carry on twice so now I just take it apart and chuck in my bag to check

get one of those backpacks or you'll have to check it.
