the skating was insane.

Definitely feels like a dump video. What else could he use all the DC footage for, really?

His style is precise but sucks. Amazing bag of tricks though.

Better than his Fade to Black part. Less "Epic" more lines, less rail chomping, better music, his style is slowly (very slowly) maturing. Long bs 5-0, and nollie inward heel that gap stood out

I want to hate the part, but it was pretty fucked

best part of his by far.  some of the sketchiness in his landings made the skating 10x more watchable

This. I feel like the editing on this as well as Fade to Black was just, "Here a bunch of really incredible tricks..." with no regard for pacing whatsoever.

You really consider that song "metal"? It's definitely not 'Lil Wayne, but that's not metal. And why does it matter anyhow?

kid is good super good.  Man it must be nice being him right now.

Is it really though? Not denying he's good but he's got more skaters hating on him than when Ryan did Life of Ryan. He quit an iconic shoe company for really no other reason than money (that we've seen) so it really seems like he's chasing the money trail wherever that leads him no matter what he has to do. He doesn't need the Nike paycheck after winning so many SLs. What's he gonna do next? Put his face on the moon? Obviously there's nothing wrong with getting paid to do what you love and are good at but at a certain point what are you sacrificing to get it? He's gonna fall so hard soon, have no fans besides moms and little kids.

According to studies of whatever they study for that, Nike is #1 and Coca-Cola is #2. It's due to Coca-Cola using a written language that requires translation whereas Nike is a symbol. It's probably a difference of one or two recognition units*. Marlboro and Budweiser are #3 and #4. That was a study from 2008 though so it very well may have changed. Apple has got to be in there based on China's population alone.

brand value does not equate to brand recognition

Kinda does though. The most valuable brands are often the biggest (Apple, Microsoft, Google), have big marketing budgets/outlets and therefore have the most coverage in TV, printed ads like magazines and billboards and web ads which makes them even more recognizable after a relatively small time of exposure. In a broad estimate a 5 minute Apple commercial will get seen by how many thousands to millions of people all over the world?

The number of times "Nike" has been mentioned in this thread are worth his new contract alone.
Maybe the official announcement comes during Tampa Am???
Nike doesn't need to cut anyone to sign Nyjah, but chances are some corporate suit bean counter will eventually make them if things don't pan out in the profit column.
It's crazy to think how Nike SB's focus could be going from Grant, Corey, and Ishod and to Nyjah, Shane and Mariano.

The Nike logo is almost as ubiquitous as the caution, "no ___", and biohazard symbols. Apple is known because of it's enormous presence in China with manufacturing and stuff, but facebook is prohibited in China aside from the privileged, as of 2013 Google's search share is down to 1.7% compared to almost 40% in 2009 and didn't exist in the country at all until 2005, and Microsoft had to buy their way into the country by partnering with official government software companies. Nike doesn't have to do any of that in China. China fucking loves Nike and Adidas. That's where they make them.

As for India... just google it. Most of them don't even have electricity. They do have a bunch of old ass Nikes though.

As of 2011 36% of the entire world's population lives in those two countries and most of them don't use any form of internet, never mind the one we're using right now.

So yeah you guys can identify Mickey Mouse, and the little facebook f, and all of that but "most people" aren't you. "Most people" are a 28 year old male living in rural China.

the way i see it now is fuck it if he's getting hated on.  People hate on shit for the sake of hating on it.  People hated on nyjah when he was a kid on es.  They hated on him when he had NO SPONSORS and they hate on him now for having really good sponsors and leaving for something better for him.  I glanced at his instagram and he looks to be having a lot of fun in life.  and like someone said in another post if someone had at least half of the money nyjah gets they would've slowed down or stop putting shit out wink wink "appleyard"  I think he does some lame shit at times but fuck y'all are really fishing for ways to hate on him.  He's honestly putting up so much gnarly content you can't say the man aint working hard.  The dumbest thing i ever heard is to turn down good opportunities and money.  Are you gonna turn down a raise or promotion at your job? I don't think so.  Its not like he's quitting element or something its fucking DC they're just as corpo as all those other brands besides i didn't see so called "skate brands" hooking him up when he was in the dumps so good riddance.

despite the hate Nike catches, not a single one of their riders isn't a well loved, celebrated skateboarder.  Their team is awesome.  Who doesn't like the guys on their team?  even as corporate as P-Rod has become i still like the guy.

Nyjah is an incredible skateboarder but given the care Nike has taken towards building a respected team, it seems like a downgrade for the brand to sponsor nyjah.  he's a great skateboarder but nobody really respects him and he certainly isnt a celebrated person in the skateboarding culture.

Lance, Luan and BA are Nike.  Nyjah is Globe shoes with Decenzo

Some of you guys are so confused by your burning lust for Nyjer you feel compelled to hide it under a thin veil of hate.

How else can you explain multiple double digit-paged threads everytime this dude makes a public appearance.

Are you fucking kidding me? Sheckler is the only skater that hasn't sold out and stuck with etnies his entire life, if you're a skater and you rep nike you're a complete kook. luan, shane, prod, bufoni are all fuckwits, probably be dead without skateboarding

Explain where this loveability comes from? Most boring group of skaters I've ever seen, having a beer with luan or p rod... id rather have a drink with my 45 year old aussie neighbor, she's fucking hilarious! Shane/ Luan/ Prod are EASILY the most boring interviews ever, rather see paint dry.

Something ($) sucked the life out of pro skateboarding, Mark Gonzales was cooler than the entire Nike team and def. more fun to hang out with.

It's funny how Nyjah had more street cred as a 10 year old then he does now
