we've all see the Haroshi sculptures and those stupid rings that andy schrock was trying to push, but has anyone here ever tried making anything out of their old decks? i had the idea today to try to make some 45 adapters for my turn table. my small goal is to just make one or two for myself, but if it turns out to be pretty easy i think it might be cool to make a bunch and sell them to local record stores or on etsy or something. not trying to make any serious money, but i think it would be fun. my dad has a woodshop so ive got all the tools i need. i was just wondering if anyone here had made anything cool and if they had any tips or advice for glueing multiple layers of board together and making it look like one solid piece.

My buddy who works at Maple XO in Portland actually just finished a project with John Cardiel to make 45 adapters out of recycled decks

Got a link? Those look better than what I think I'm capable of. I'm still going to try though.

Funny story, when I was 15 I traded a weed dealer/kinda used to skate guy a stack of old decks for a quarter ounce of stinky, shitty weed. Years later he died of a heroin overdose.

I know people who make fingerboard benches out of their old skateboards (yes, most fingerboarders skate)
I'll try and find some pics later
Shit could be worse

They assume every turntable has the same sized spindle and it goes over it without going through it.

That's not funny, that's a pathetic human being, dude should be ashamed in his afterlife to have called himself an American.

Click the photo or go here. The plus side about these are they're Cardiel endorsed, if that sorta thing matters to you.

I made a bookshelf out of a long board once. Much better than riding one of those things.

I doodle on old decks, it's pretty fun. How people shape old boards into operating objects is beyond me, though. So rad.
