I am definitely a Rage fan but their concerts are just too much for me these days. Last one I went to was the biggest frat boy\jock fest and the pit never ended. Not one these 2-3 circles up near the front, the whole floor was a bunch of amped up jocks knocking the shit out of each other. I seriously got my ass whipped more at that show than any other. I had a big knot on my forehead, it was crazy. I like getting the shit knocked out of me in a pit as much as the next guy but the vibe at their shows is just bad. It's more of a how many people can you knock the shit out of vibe than a let loose, have fun and hit who ever you happen to run into kind of vibe.

That being sad, they fucking owned shit back in the Lollapolooza heyday.

yah so I hear! thats good for them, super catchy band, I heard NME is all over them these days... they write really great songs for being so young. If they are together in 5 years they will be huge, they just need some time to develop.

Every time I hear of a local band being "discovered by the UK", I know to stay away from their shows.

o.k. that was stupid as fuck calling rage corny.

you might not be in to there music but zach delarocha did not give a fuck about anything but uncovering the truth about corruption in world society and political agendas. the whole "fuck a.m. radio talk shows" was dead on! not to mention his stage presence and energy ,the fact that they threw so many benifit shows is just amazing. i dont listen to them all that much but i would be siked to see them live. zach is a noble dilitent. and your just some dude that has no respect for lyrics that actually have a point behind them.

^ I would guess that you are in the post nu-metal age group. When they frist came out their sound was definitely interesting, fun, refreshing and had a good message.

After Nu-metal bit it so hard it just ruined the sound a bit.

sorry skmbskt. i was tired and ranting a little to hard lastnight.

the thing with rage is when they first came out noone in music was really questioning authority besides fugazi and a couple other bands. and there sound was unique and original (they had created there own genre).

i was a sophmore when there first album came out and i was one of the three people in school that skateboarded, we were the outcasts of the school, everyone hated us and we put up with the ever so cool "skate or die" and "skater fag" comments from everybody. rage gave us a little piece of fuck you to the masses at are school. they were popular among everyone right of the bat and to see morello wearing big brother shirts and other skateboard related clothing was awesome. made me realize that my school was filled with regular hypocrites.

same here PBN

they definitely added a little energy and flavor the mix at the bars I used to chill in when they hit the scene. I remember the first time I was in the bar and that "fuck you I won't do what you told me" song came on, the whole place just went crazy. It just didnt' sound like anything else we had heard at the time and was tight.

It wasn't too long before the frat boys were crashing the party and rage and Nirvana kind of put a nail in the coffin of the bar I used to love to chill at before too long.

But still got much respect.

They also killed lollapolooza in 92. Them followed by tool in the heat 106 degree summer day in Houston was really tight at the time. I also ended up sitting right next to Zach et all in the political tent for a good while without really even realizing it. Those guys were actually in the tent for a good bit of the day talking politics with a bunch of stoned kids on acid. Imagine how annoying that would be for them but they still hung in there while I am sure the rest of the bands were chilling backstage.
