Skateboarding needs more Templeton's
there will never be another Templeton. he definitely can stand shoulder to shoulder with any other 'legend'/pioneer of skateboarding
he was a major influence on me getting into Fugazi and Sonic Youth and other cultural stuff outside of skateboarding.
saw him skate at a couple of different demos during the absolute peak of Tum Yeto (between Welcome to Hell and Jump off a Building and then also after JOAB). even with the insane about of rippers present at each demo (Barley, Anderson, Getz, Maldonado, Bam, Fowler, etc.), Ed was always the last-man standing and still putting on a show for everyone (usually by blunting the entirety of some obstacle).
also, he was rocking dickies and white shoes and getting flack for it. he should be the patron saint of kids' skateboarding styles today
Ed is the best.
edit: Jamie is probably most often considered the rail-hero of Welcome to Hell, but Ed's is still the most re-watched for me (with Maldonado and Barley very very close behind)
