So today I tried on a pair of the new 508. Here are my observations.
I would say they fit TTS, I'm a 10 in nike sb, 9.5 in vans, my last ten skate shoes were dc legacy slims in size 10, which fit very snug. I tried on a 10 in these and they had a little more room in the toe, but not so much that I'd want to go down a half size. Slightly larger than my air trainers and anti hero dunk highs, but not much.
The padding is thin, on the tongue and around the ankle, but not too thin.
There's minimal impact cushioning. A thin removable insole and what appears to be no midsole. I would probably recommend an after market insole if you have old feet like me, or if you have an old pair of the Foy 306, chuck that insole in there. On the plus side, this means they're quite flexible out of the box and would probably break in super fast.
There are elastic tongue stabilisers.
My feet are wide at the toes, and they weren't too narrow for me.
Apart from the thin sole (which can be easily remedied), my main gripe was that my ankle /heel didn't feel secure. This is the same gripe I've had with the Adidas 3st.004, the najera, campus adv, and the tyshawn, though the campus adv and najera shoe were also too narrow in the forefoot, which isn't the case here. If you don't have that problem with those shoes, you won't with this.
In summary, I'm going to skip them because my ankles are too fragile for the poor heel lock, and the slimmer look doesn't suit my aesthetic, so I wouldn't even use them as chillers. Pity, i did like the look of them in the pics above.
I'm going to wait for the next colours of the 1010 to drop, they fit me perfectly in size 10, with good heel lock and suit my aesthetic.
