I just wanna clarify so that I don’t get any shops or reps in trouble, I’m not currently affiliated with any shop. I received a screen shot that a friend received from a friend and all that the screen shot contained was the text that I shared with no images.

Holy fuck, I hope that price on the Reynolds is wrong.  How much more can skate shoes go up in cost and skaters keep affording them.  I wanted to get a pair but it's getting ridiculous.  We're going to be at $150 soon.  I want them to do well but man I think that cost may hurt that
[close]
That price is correct.  $130 retail.  They're SUPER tech and there's a lot built into them, they don't look and feel like just a regular old suede shoe with nothing into it so hopefully our history of durability and comfort will justify that, but I do get that $130 is difficult for some.
[close]

Crazy. I hope the shoe blends the 600/480/880/1010...into something that actually fits...and let's not forget the 10.5s ;)

I’m curious what your issue is with New Balance fits and if it relates to mine, I just believe that my feet are more narrow than most but most models tend to feel a bit loose around my heel and ankle. The 417’s that I’m currently wearing are okay for me as they are mid/high tops and I think the collar of the shoe helps a bit from slipping. I kinda crank the laces so that they’re closer to how snug I’d prefer them and that just leaves them looking super goofy. I’ve skated my pair for almost 2 weeks now and they kinda bum me out to look down on.

This shit is annoying because I just want to skate shoes that my local shop sells and I really wanna like these because then I’d also have the option of buying the lows!!!!

These shoes are made in foreign countries for below poverty wages, no amount of tech justifies that price.

If the shoe lasts twice as long as a $75 shoe, I’d say that justifies it

1010..what a nightmare for me 10s too small (length), 10.5s too big (shiton of heelslip and I have to crank them down worse than the PS8s)...and it still slips and this is supposedly after they 'fixed' the heel slip.
808s, just too fucking narrow, no matter the length of the shoe
480s, too long in my TTS (10.5)
417s, perfect in 10.5 (currently skating these, much love for them)...and yeah the taller ankle area helps with slip (there is a teeny tiny bit).
600s 'ok' in 10.5 I just felt like the shoe was 'thin' and not as supportive as I would have liked; do want to try them again in all suede.
272s (first drop, havent tried since) 10, too long, 10.5 MASSIVE
255 10.5 perfect
440 V1 10
440 V2 10.5 (low wides, amazing shoe, would kill for a mid based off it and NOT the 440v2 high)
440 V2 Mids (not wides) narrow and they broke in a bit but nowhere near as comfy as this 440 low wides, amazing shoe but

Generally, I think it mostly the brand's sizing. The rounded (usually vulc) compared to the square (cup) seem to fit differently than each other THEN within those confines, some vulcs fit diff than others, same for cups; heel counter shape is a big factor, i.e., curved vs straight, and the fact that many NB 'look' wider than they are outsole/foxing are deceptive for this brand...like the 808 or 417...then there is the suede vs non-suede...fit. Don't gt me worng, I like options but sometimes it feels like there's just too much. The WIDES seem to fit me better and I don't really have a massivly wide foot at all, it's just some of the show shape works better wider; an 808 wide would probably fit me tts.

(all you every NB# fits me TTS guys, super happy for you btw).

When I can just blind buy nike or vans in my size 10.5 and be done knowing it's going to fit Usually). It's a bummer trying to find NB# local so I do a lot of mail order (lot's of shoes at a time and return them, it sucks, carbon footprint and shit).

If anyone has the newer Reynolds 480 in size 10 and is willing to sell, let me know.  I just learned I’m a size 10 in 480s and not the cursed 10.5.  Oof!

To save space, I don’t wanna quote, but I really appreciate the thorough reply @Xen !!!

That’s a really good point about the deceptive foxing. I believe this is in reference to the width of the shoe but I was actually perceiving this today while looking at the soles thickness. Mine just feel a bit thin. I think that they are just supportive enough for my needs but I prefer a bit thicker of sole for contact while dragging my foot up the board.

I got to borrow a well broken in pair of 440 v1 mids for a session from a friend and those really did solve the loose heel/slip issue that I was feeling in my 440 v1’s. I wonder now if that had anything to do with materials because these were the wonderful green Surrey colorway that had leather, corduroy, and suedes.

You’re hyped! Maybe I should try a 10…. As 10.5 didn’t work.

Have you tried the 1010 in a different colorway? The White with New Spruce colorway fit me well in my size, so I ordered the Castlerock colorway as well, but I find it narrower and not as comfortable.

You don’t want people to discuss product that is on the market, but you want to talk about a shoe that is months away from release, that is going to have zero leaks. Why are you in Shoes & Gear?

These discussions help people, including myself, by preventing the hassle of buying and returning shoes. It saves time and money.

Is there a new white 1010 with black details on the heel?
Just sa what it looks like on this video the Reynolds just shared. Don't want to be all over with 933 hype since the toe looks very 1010:

Btw it gives vibes that his account might have been hacked?

It might not transform them but I use Superfeet Adapt Run in my 600 and love it. A bit more support than stock insole, still great boardfeel. IDK if you had leather or suede but the leather take longer to break in but hold shape way better.

It seems to me that this is the colorway I mentioned earlier: White with New Spruce. If you capture it at the right moment, you can see that the 'N' is yellowish, just a bit darker because it's in the shadow.

Just picked up the NB# x Chocolate 480 lows. Sickest 480s so far! Weird release day, though. None of my locals were carrying it. Was going to order a pair online from someone else and then saw that Zumiez was selling them for $30 cheaper than anywhere else. Ran to my local mall and snapped ‘em up.

Life is like a shoe box of Chocolate.   You never know what price you’re gonna get.

But really, it doesn’t seem like it’s released anywhere but Zumiez yet and they might have a week exclusivity.   Humidity looked like they were selling the extras from their release party.

Nah, definitely not a Zumiez exclusive. Plenty of shops have em (Civil, Theory, Kinetic, Black Sheep, CCS, Skate Warehouse). Don’t get me wrong, while I’m stoked to save $30 (gotta save up for the Reynolds kicks $$$), if I ran any of those shops, I’d be annoyed that Zumiez was undercutting me.

Maybe the zumiez doesn’t come with the special box with the extra insoles and shoe bags inside

Super disappointing that NB# isn’t doing any price control.

I thought that would be the case, but when I went there to pick up the kicks, lo and behold the box, bag, and insoles were there. By the way, kudos to NB for adding the extra insoles. They’re way better than the stock Abzorb insoles.

Glad they've taken note of the feedback, seems like a lot of people have had issues with the Abzorbs. What's the extra insole?

Oh yeah, and I'm a bit late to the party with the 480 in general as I initially had the crampy insole problem or whatever, but today I took my yin yangs out for a proper session (replacing the Abzorbs with a general NB Ortholite insole) and REALLY liked them. My old ass feet enjoy the protection and the grip is amazing. Anyone else feel like the grip is great on the 480 -- and d'ya feel like it's extra specific to certain colorways?

It’s not labeled but it looks like an Ortholite insole to me.

I'm not sure if these are numerics, but I think they are? It's a 480 colorway that's really similar to the first Reynolds one but with a gumsole and slightly lighter panels. Looks really nice.
