Anyone else hoping for a restock in wide sizes? It’s hard out there for the wide footers.
[close]
Yeah I just recently found out they had wide models but I can’t find any videos or extra info on the wides online.
If my local had the Reynolds wide I would def go try them on to see what they feel like. Might order some eventually any how.
[close]

Roth said he put the order in, probably takes time to manufacture and ship
[close]
Oh that’s awesome. I’ll patiently wait that’s fine. Wides sold out everywhere the market is there for them.
For something that is so unique amongst skate shoe brands, they really did minimal marketing on offering wide in some of these models. I know they mentioned it in passing in some of these interviews but there is actually a big market for wide skate shoes.

they need to rework what a wide is. i'm not convinced a 12 wide isn't just a relabeled 12.5 or 13

I got a pair of black/olive in 12 wide and a pair of brown/grey in 12.5 (not wide). I wear a 12 in the 480, Tiago, and Knox. I got the 12.5 because in running shoes (Hoka and Brooks) I wear a 12.5 wide. Unfortunately, I won't be able to try them on for another month, because I am traveling at the moment and the shoes are at my house.

Lol that sounds hella dumb. Especially since they make wides in their other divisions and in the numeric line as well.

I know I sound like a broken record but 933 release on the EU is on 15 or 22.5?
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

there is a timer on the NB (at least austrian) site. Seems like black/ olive is set for 14th and the grey day 933s come on the 22nd of may

Can Mr Roth or someone explain how the shape of the wides work, are the soles different? More material?

Did anyone notice the latest white 480 on new balance is offered in a wide??? Curious if that is in the heel? Or forefoot.

Curious about this too.  I find the toebox to be good in the normal 480, but the midfoot is a little narrow.

So with wides, we generally use a 1/2 size larger sole to accommodate the 2E last size and then adjust patterns so that the wide version looks visually as close to the standard width as possible. The last, just to explain it, is the form/mold that the shoe is built around, looks like a blobby version of a foot. Just wanted to explain in case someone didn't know what I was referring to.

Yeah the new 933 was my last try for “wide” NB, the 933 wide was far too narrow for me just behind the toe box. 440’s work once I blow the sides out and shoe goo them. I wish they would offer a 4E width.

wow that's so bad. that's why there's so much extra room above the toes and why your feet end up hanging over the sides of the soles and blowing out the sides

"Especially since they make wides in their other divisions and in the numeric line as well."

and yeah that's the frustrating thing and why i keep hoping for more from NB. Like it's hard to blame Nike because they barely even offers any wide sizes and all their shoes are comically narrow or other companies that don't offer any wide sizes at all. But New Balance obviously understands feet and offers even up to 6E in many models. But then they do this for their skate shoes...

gig.

This is great info. I got a pair of 11.5 D standard 933s and they were alright but a little tight at the base of the toes and midfoot. Still fully skateable/wearable but wanted to try the 2e wide so I grabbed a size 11 2e in fear of my true size being too loose in 2E. I can now say after a few days with them there was no need to size down for the 2e wide. That tightness I mentioned is gone so next time I’ll do wide in my TTS. I’m sticking by this is the best fitting shoe numeric has put out yet.

Damn crazy. That is dumb as hell, same treatment should be done for skate shoes. I have wide feet but maybe not as wide as most people asking for wider skate shoes. Asics japan pro fit me alright as do air force ones once they break in, most dunks but laces have to really loose at the forefoot. Can't wear sambas or shoes like that at all.

Sucks for the people who have super wide feet.

Amazing, thx and gnar.

Most shops in Europe make the 933 available to buy this wednesday. So, may 14th. Same size as the 600, 306 and 440 for ya all? My true to size is 7.5 US and I would get the 933 in that size too. I am not sure if I should try half size down too.

Saw some at my local as well while shopping for the other colorways last weekend.

hard to describe the color but its definitely more of a dad-shoe grey than like the OG 1010 grey day's for example. I love grey/white shoes but those weren't doing it for me. Not sure if it was the shade of grey itself or rather I feel like the silhouette benefits from the more complex color blocking with all of its panels and midsole sections. Some may prefer the grey day 933s for this reason but they felt bland to me on foot when I tried them on.

Craziest thing to me is that I thought the black/olive colorway was the worst one at first when the photos leaked but it ended up being the pair I liked the most in person. The color blocking and the green on the inner midsole set the whole shit off

Well damn. Bummer missing out.

I’ll wait to see them in person then. I agree that the green/black didn’t look at all appealing until I saw them in person and they’re also my favorite so far.

Googling the three grey day Tiagos reminded me how sick it was the one of the original 1010 colorways was a Muska Circa homage.

Has the 508 had a classic grey colorway yet?   The Lost Art 600 was close enough, but Westgates shoe would look nice in that c/w

Thanks for this, Tom K's Followed is one of my favorite skate media pieces ever and I would love to have that shoe to represent that era. Also the coffee shop he went to in LB is pretty good haha I got the same order as him in his Followed

definitely the best colorway so far, they look kinda good in those photos. i'm a bit back n forth with this shoe, i can't figure out if i like it or not, it's probably the colorways that are not sitting right with me. i don't know who the fuck greenlit that black and olive. as much as nb designers get praised for the shoe designs themselves (not saying that i fully agree with this statement, but there definitely are some good ones) the colorways are awful more often than not, very awkward colorblocking

bronze 480s seem ugly too in those photos, could be better irl though, i don't know how that oilslick-ish color is gonna look. it's probably the best looking nb# model though, which makes sense because it's not an original numeric design

Does the off white part seem intentional or is that just how it photographs?   Either way, I like the idea of it

Its intentional. And it looks good.
One is rubber, the other is foam.
Off white always looks beter than pure white.
