What's keeping you of your boards friends? Feel free to share.  :)

I fucked my ankle up months ago, it's a persistent pain.  :( Torn my big toenail of yesterday and bashed my knee falling of a rail. Can't wait till I heal up!

Got a gnarly heel contusion today. It hurts to walk or put any pressure on it at all. It'll probably take a week or two to fully heal.

Herniated disc. Going to PT 3 times a week. May be able to get by with a cortisone shot but a spine specialist is looking at my MRI now. I say if surgery will make me better cut me open already.

Sprained my right knee on Thanksgiving last year and still been skating on it for the past couple months when it's dry. That happened 3 months after I had sprained the same one.

Two concussions this year (car accident someone elses fault and skateboarding). I went out surfing after each one of these concussions and off shore wind blew my board strait into the back of my head after I'd kick out of a wave. Twice!  Dude in the line up said that he had never seen someone get hit in the head that hard in his LIFE.   I forget the topic of conversations pretty frequently, my brain prolly would look like some old age home peoples brains in an xray.  Ive had a good 8 concussions total.

Yup might not come back up next time.  Pretty crazy and a lesson to you from me.  Life is scratchingly close to death.  It's like rite over there.  I'm not going to skate fast again or skate tranny again.  Slow shit is fun and chalenging enuf anyway.  I'll never snowboard ever and I'm getting a helmet for biking.  I havent got one yet and I'm riding the brakes cause I'm tripping lately.  Thanks for the concern Ducky.  Shit I might even start skating in a helmet.  That would suck

i bet footprint or somebody might make a slim helmet or a beanie helmet or something in the future, but yeah helmets saved my ass more than a few times when i used to bike, and when i was like 10 i used to wear a helmet skating transition and that helped too. but i never really got into transition afterwards though, hell last time i tried to rock to fakie when i came back down my board just shot out and i smashed my hip, being really tall and skating transition doesn't mix, it would be easier to ollie an 8 then 50-50 a bowl.

No one will want to take on the liability for that.....

Head injuries may not be as big in skating as say football or BMXing....but it's real and we don't really talk much about it....Lance Mountain: I can't remember anything! Ha..ha....and in the Ed T epicly latered.....

I just got through recovery for surgeries on both ankles and my right knee (only partially skate related). It's been about a year and a half since I've been out skating, and it's been super hard getting back into it. It's completely fucked up how my feet operate, but hopefully it starts coming back to me and I can acclimate to the changes. I've still been trying to get out every day just pushing around with the occasional shove thrown in and it feels great regardless.

Allen.

My back will forever be an ongoing one unfortunately.  But recently I'm wondering if one of my old rolled ankles I never got looked at ( there have probably been 3 that should have been ) is actually what has caused all my back/hip issues seeing as I can't actually bend very far at my right knee before my heal comes off the floor.  That ankle has looked like I've had 2 ankles on that foot for about 15yrs now so I'm sure it's probably pretty awesome in there :(

I've been having hip issues for 8 months now.  It's pretty painful to bring my left knee higher than my waist which makes pretty much everything in skating hurt.

I always take 3 advil before each session to try and limit the pain but I'm sure it's probably just creating long term problems.

Currently seeing a chiropractor, using a foam roller every other night and stretching but nothing seems to be helping.  I'm probably going to make an appt with a physical therapist to try and figure out what the hell is going on.  Google tells me its my iliopsoas but I have no idea

I haven't actually and just had to look it up because I had no idea what it was haha.  It looks interesting and I'm down to try anything.

I just made an appointment to get an MRI next week just to make sure nothing is severely wrong but I'll definitely look into osteopathy as well.

Anything to avoid surgery

That kind of sounds similar to something I had going on in both hips up until recently Steve.  I took a slam to each hip without the proper time to brace or anything and ended up with some gnarly hip bursitis which made it painful to bring my legs up like how you described.

Try getting your hands on some NSAIDs but just be careful not to over do it and fuck up your stomach lining.

Doesn't everyone take more than the maximum suggested allowance of ibuprofen every day? I take like... I don't know 9? Every day. I know my stomach is probably dumping blood into itself, but my back hurts and I can't see my stomach so it can go fuck itself.

Just sniff some glue

Been sitting on a torn ligament in my foot for a couple of months now. The Doc said they are going to give me a shot to repair it. Now that the weather is getting nice. I just sit and stare out my window.
