The issue with medical insurance for pros is pretty basic. Pro skaters are independent contractors, not employees. Totally different legal/tax status. If you're a pro skater, you are actually self-employed and contracting out your services for hire. If you want to blame your employer for not getting you medical insurance, look in the mirror. You're your own employer. Congratulations, most people dream of being their own boss someday!

Fuck if he's getting paid in Ozzie money, it's not really worth anything, that shit's worth less than dollars, he's lucky if he could even afford stale bread or water in the UK......

Yeah. It's a weird one for sure. I don't think if your landscaper got injured on the job he'd have much of a claim for you to pay his medical bills, but who knows anymore in today's litigious society.
