I think he's so good that he can do whatever he decides on a skateboard and he kind of saw what he can do with that tech skating. Which is anything and everything. So he went the other direction, see what else is there to skate.

I fully agree with the sentiment that he is not really skating anywhere near his potential these days.  It's all good to have fun and that's what skating is about obviously, but when you're as talented as this dude you kind of owe it to yourself to put in the work leave a huge imprint on skate history.  You can tell that partying too much has kind of fucked this up.  You can get away with it for a while but it will catch up with everyone and although I don't know him or his situation, shit can go south pretty fast.  I'm sure he feels the same way deep down, and maybe he just needs to get some help, get back on track and find the motivation to start producing world class coverage again.  Not trying to be an armchair psychologist, but I've constantly heard that he is a bit of a trainwreck with the booze.  People like to glorify that shit within the skate world way too much in my opinion, not realizing the many negatives real world effects it can have on people.  It's not joke.  Anyway, that's jut what I would hope he will do.  It's not my life, but I would love to see a bunch more Beware of the Sasquatch and Pretty Sweet level parts from the guy.  We all know he's got it in him.
