People mistake his shy quiet personality for cockiness. He seems very humble and down to earth in several interviews. He had a podcast in which he told a story about his father overcoming fear of flying to see him skate at the pro open last year in Barcelona.

That said, he shouldn't have walked off looking pissed off last weekend at street league after his last trick and being in second place. Should take notes on how prod handled his last trick, bailing, being 6th and still smiling at all the spectators.

That's probably because Prod could retire right now if he wanted to. Prod doesn't give a shit anymore. I mean, he still tries, but he's still flying home to a successful business that he owns, sponsor cash comin in for days at entirely un-spendable amounts, lucrative investments, luxury house in a gated community, luxury cars, and smoking hot girlfriend who films herself making knick-knacks at his house every day.

He was giving off vibes at Tampa Pro as well. Granted, he certainly deserved a higher score than 80 for his second run, but c'mon man. He even seemed to be giving cool-guy vibes at Mano A Mano, a tiny mini ramp competition in its first year.

Odd choice to reuse Gilbert's song - especially because he & Cody have a lot in common IMO... But whatever. Cody is crushing it harder than almost anyone right now. How many full-length parts is that this year for cryin out loud? Dude's a machine. I can't think of too many out there who skate with the power & control he's got. Not to mention dude goes FAST.

He's so good, but I don't know what it is about him. Maybe that he looks like Tami from 60 Days In.

The best. He's the best. Switch flip front crooks on a rail in a line. Fuck.

No hate. The toothpick is dope. I rock tanks, he's my tank top hero.

switch fs flip manual forward flip was insane.

I'm sure it is super gnarly in person, but that last spot has always underwhelmed me, and gets used for enders/covers too often.

Perfect song choice.

If there was a "Goodfellas" of skateboarding, I would put Cody in Joe Pesci's character. Just from the looks he would fit well.

Some great stuff in there. The first line ending in a switch flip fs crooked grind on a handrail. A HANDRAIL. In a line.

And that switch flip over the rail was so controlled and perfect.
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

I keep thinking this! Time and time again, I've seen it used for enders and it's always weirdly anticlimactic!

a few things to mention.

The switch flip over that rail, especially that top angle, how does that not make your jaw drop?

as previously mentioned, that spot that was the ender, i don't understand the hype on that spot at all. Also as previously stated, its probably gnarly in real life, but gnarlier than half of those tricks? come on.

Third, i don't know how anyone can deny the skill this man has on a skateboard. Sure, he might not be wearing cool clothes or whatever the fuck, but i don't know many people who can do a majority of those tricks, that well.
