GQ: wear chinos and tuck in your shirt
« on: May 30, 2016, 08:56:12 PM »
Probably time to start some new trends.

http://www.gq.com/story/how-to-wear-a-henley-in-the-summer

All the Skater Kids

Have you seen how cool Rocco Ritchie looks these days? Cop the London teen’s punk style by wearing loose-fit chinos and a striped Henley with your dirtiest sneakers.

http://www.gq.com/story/how-to-tuck-in-your-t-shirt-asap-rocky-virgil-abloh

Skaters having been tee tucking for decades, but the new crop of rising stars are more style-inclined than ever. After all, Sean Pablo here recently modeled in Supreme's Spring-Summer 2016 lookbook. And while the 'Preme tee certainly helps separate you from the dad pack, it's the retro sneakers, slim un-Obama chinos, and skull cap that make this look feel classic instead of corny.
You know I thought these forums were a for skating not discussing fetishes

Journalists will write anything to fill papers. Sickening, they did as little research as possible and propose tucking your shirt a "trend." I don't even know who Sean Pablo is until I see a dope trick from him who cares? Gay Community will have to wait another day before I subscribe.

I don't know if it's more embarrasing for GQ or for skateboarders...

Daddy Jeans - CHECK
Polo/unfited caps - CHECK
Tucked t-shirts - CHECK
80s sport jacket - CHECK
Skating non skate shoes - CHECK

What is the next big trend in skateboarding?
Skating shoes from actual "trying to be core" companies (a.k.a. not adidas/nike/cons/NB#) ?

I tried to skate in a shark zip bape hoody in 05...wasting money on fashion was so fun back then. Now a nigga got bills and insurance and shit  >:(

Edit: After reading the article I think its kinda cool that GQ is even writing about/getting inspired by skate culture and style. I heard they wanted to move away from predominately priveledge white men and reflect all types of cultures and subcultures. Although the end result isnt graceful it could have been worse.

I also think our generation has seen the death of regional and underground trends due to high speed internet. So its hard for me to trip over those articles when exclusivity is basically impossible.

off the bat the article aint legit, because what brings the skater look together is being super baked all the time, and blowing smoke into the camera and shit

a men's magazine encouraging the desperate, hopeless GQ types to adopt the style of a 15 year old... fuckin' hell - who buys this tripe?

i'd rather go ritchie jackson or even business casual.

Dude, Fashion is wack.

Just wear what you want, who gives a fuck. If you care what magazines are publishing about "skate fashion", you're probably one of the dipshits that is just following all the trends in the first place, so fuck off and stop claiming shit as your own.

really though the idea that someone who doesn't skate nor gives a shit about it would intentionally try to put together a "skater look" is fuckin absurd, do they look in the mirror and say " fuck yea, got my skater look perfect"

You would be very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very surprised. Basically any building that houses at least one advertising/marketing agency will contain at least four of those people, and it grows by an order of magnitude with each additional advertising/marketing agency. Chicago has some buildings containing nothing but these people.

gross.

they must be the least interesting people imaginable.

nothing going on to inspire the way they present themselves, no identity, no subculture, just trend hopping.

I like the dad hat trend because I can finally wear the cheap opening day hats I've acquired over the years. Other than that I've word the same thing since like 9th grade. I'm waiting for fitted caps to come back so I can wear my picnic table girl hat again.
