pretty much i watch skate videos on youtube multiple times a day, but its like having a shot and leaving the bar. it works, but you lose the satisfaction of getting to sit and enjoy your beer.

and i've watched videos on you tube and thought they were shit and the skating sucked and the filming was gay, but then i saw it on the tv and liked it alot moe

kids these days probably wonder why the sound of their tricks comes so soon, instead of 2 seconds later like all the pros on youtube

i see what you mean, but there is nothing like owning a collection of your favorites, sure its great to be able to watch in part of a video while you are online, but nothing replaces owning a copy of mouse or welcome to hell, its all about having the collection

WORD
What are you lookin' at? You're all a bunch of fuckin' assholes. You know why? You don't have the guts to be what you wanna be. You need people like me. You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers, and say "that's the bad guy." So, what'll that make you? Good? You're not good.

if i like a dvd good enough ill buy it, but i almost always see the parts on youtube first.  you dont want to go and blindly pay 25$ for a video that could suck.

google video is worse for skate videos, they have whole videos up on that and you can download them straight off it.

Youtube is good for when you're at work and stuff, but I'd rather own my own copy and watch it on a real screen.
Skate videos have been downhill ever since 411VM #20

im strictly too lazy to get up and put the dvd in the dvd player. im all about the quality though. i own 15 or so dvds, but i have every single video thats ever been ripped to the internet on my computer. I wouldnt have bought them in the first place though, so i either wouldnt see them a couple times from downloading them, or wouldnt give a shit about not seeing them. if i like it, ill buy it.

i get the feeling the industry has discovered a new focus group (ie, the slap boards)

i doubt youtube is going to kill the skateboard video. someone said earlier that companies may think, why put all the money of travels and expenses into videos if they just turn up on the internet. but if they didn't make these videos, what would pros do? only shoot photos? kids want to see their pros skate on footage and replay it, so team videos will always be around no matter what.

kids also all want free product from everyone when they can.  what kids want and what the industry does is seldom the same.  if it comes down to just kids wanting to see videos youre gonna have a shitload less videos to watch.

They should probably take advantage and post their own videos.  It's be like having ads in 411 and the like but for free and always on.

Youtube probably won't kill skate videos but it'll hopefully decrease the sales of crappy videos and lead to less filler parts (lame TWS montages).
