I don't mean to derail the thread, but is it an American thing to stop drinking all together or "go sober"? I've read a heap of pals talk about being sober and when I read your post it got me thinking. Seems like it's all or nothing with heaps of people (at least on slap) when it comes to drinking. No middle ground?

Anyway, this is definitely sad news, but it was bound to happen.

the people occupying the middle ground are generally not trainwrecks/former trainwrecks, ergo, less funny stories and anecdotes. that would be my hypothesis anyways, as someone who is perfectly set on two-beer buzzes for the vast majority of occasions.

weli i am an alcoholic so for me its the only way. i dont have a drinking problem anymore...but based on my history i can get one very, very fast. i'm not saying antwuan is an alcoholic, only he knows that. but its obvious to me as an addict that it goes hand in hand with his destructive behaviour.
