Backup board cracked all the way through last night. Thinking about getting either an 8.62 krooked, 8.8 Welcome (Sanchez shape), or an 8.6-8.75 Polar or WKND if I can find one for dumb cheap

Ha, that's the exact krooked I was looking at. Seems to have a big ass nose too, which I'm a fan of

I just switched from 7.75 to an 8 and got an 8.125 Magenta for when my board breaks. 8.62 just seems so wild, but the skateshop guys by me are convincing me otherwise.

please someone tell me they fit like garbage and suck because I don't need another pair of shoes.

Edit: too late...

Crockett 2's are definitely one of my favorite pairs of shoes. They skate great and you got a sick colorway so have no regrets on that purchase lol

I got the Crockett 2s they’re one of the comfier shoes I’ve had in a while. The soles are holding up great but I’ve skated them 6 times and the seam on the toe box got a hole after the 5th session. It looks like there’s a material under but the durability seems sub par. I had some Rowley xlts in 2001 and they was not durable either. Comfy stylish shoe just not durable for me. I had some $30 strays that lasted way longer and was half the price. I’m old fat so it’s not like I’m out there killing it for them to have torn so quickly. I know I should have put epoxy or something on the seams but I didn’t think I’d have a problem because You know the whole “old and fat thing.”

I guess I’m just saying awesome shoe but be aware of the toe box seam. It left a bad taste in my mouth.

Thanks for the heads up - I'm growing older and fatter each day.

I wore them around today and really like them. I don't plan on skating them until the snow melts but will definitely super glue the seams when I do.

I'd put the Mini Logo 8.38 trucks on that one

I actually ordered the deck only.
Good thinking though because I’m gonna put my spare 8.38 ML tricks on it.
Daddies had it on sale plus their extra 25%off promo.
I’m excited to skate a small board again.
It will basically be the exact set up as my 9 but on a small deck.
54mm wheels and 8.38 ML trucks.

I'm thinking of trying out some Film trucks, since they're relatively cheap and I like supporting European brands. Have anyone else tried them, or are they simply kooked out of the question since they did a collab with Friend Ship a while back?

i kind of want to really try indys or something different as i've been on thunders for like 3/4 years now. no gripes with thunders but i've never particularly tried anything else. my setups have always been more transition orientated (8.5s+, 149s, 56s etc) as that's all i really skated for years but now that i'm skating street more i find myself wanting to drop sizes. currently on an 8.38 but for some odd reason i want to drop to an 8.25 or even a fucking 8 just to dick around, and then some days i want to jump the fuck back up to 8.75s.

Go for it. Nothing wrong with having a few different set ups to play with.

If you decide you want to try indys pm me, might be able to hook you up with a almost new pair on the low.

I'm wanting to buy either these State Feltons or some Half Cab Pros, but I especially want to try out some States. Can anybody vouch for either of the two? Also how's the sizing on the States compared to Vans?

I don’t have that exact mode shoe but my 2 pair of states fit big.
I normally wear 11 and my states are 11 but I should have got 10.5.

A current pass~port cap. One I ordered a few years ago was tiny, can't try one before hand. Anyone know if they fit a bigger noggin?

Thunders. Tested out a set briefly today albeit only on a mini ramp and rolling on the shop floor a bit. I really liked them and didn't find them nearly as crazy as people say.

Now I just gotta decide between 149 and 151 and polished, hollow lights and titaniums. 🤔

Really twitchy and fast turning and hella wheelbitey but still not really turning much. I found none of this to be true. But my testing was very limited so, it's hard to say.

I like the turn of my Thunders more than Indies, and never had any really bad wheelbite even though I run them pretty loose with soft bushings and 55mm wheels. I mean, my wheels had eaten through a whole ply on my previous board so there must be a lot of contact but I’ve never been noticably slowed down or stopped while rolling because of it. Most of that wheel-deck contact is made at the moment I carve into slappies I think.
