Thought about giving aces another chance. Do the axles slip? The set I had 4-5 years ago started doing that within a few months.

I got this Andrew allen board recently. I haven't set it up yet though. Its my first hockey board has anyone tried hockey before are they any good?

^I had Andrews “crash test” deck that came out around this time last year. Looks similar shape wise to what you got. 8.38, never got soggy even after going through puddles here and there. If what you’ve gotten is anything similar it should be very nice.

Ok

The only way I’m hard on trucks is from missing flip tricks. My ace’s have been very solid. No slip. And that’s skating the 44s on a FA board that’s ‘8.25’ (more like 8 1/8”)

Ok

I like the turn of my Thunders more than Indies, and never had any really bad wheelbite even though I run them pretty loose with soft bushings and 55mm wheels. I mean, my wheels had eaten through a whole ply on my previous board so there must be a lot of contact but I’ve never been noticably slowed down or stopped while rolling because of it. Most of that wheel-deck contact is made at the moment I carve into slappies I think.

Which thunders? And which bushings? Interested

NB 440.  I have a glut of shoes right now, but these speak to me somehow.

Yes not all Thunders are made equal, there is a huge difference between all of them. I'm not fond of my Hollow Lights 151, never got used to them. However the Team Hollow 148, no turning back, it's my favorite.

Thunders. Tested out a set briefly today albeit only on a mini ramp and rolling on the shop floor a bit. I really liked them and didn't find them nearly as crazy as people say.

Now I just gotta decide between 149 and 151 and polished, hollow lights and titaniums. 🤔

People say they are crazy?  How so?
[close]

Really twitchy and fast turning and hella wheelbitey but still not really turning much. I found none of this to be true. But my testing was very limited so, it's hard to say.

Pretty much sums up my experience with 149 hollows and 56 conicals. Even when they wore down to < 50 I got wheelbite way early compared to Indies or Aces.

I tested 151 polished ones with 60 mm wheels and some mad risers (probably 1/2”). Was thinking of going with the 149 titaniums with 1/8” risers and 54 mm wheels but I’m gonna mull it over until Thursday afternoon and am open to suggestions.

I pretty much always ride 54 mm wheels, love stock Aces, ride 8.38” and 8.5” boards. I have been thinking of sizing up but am unsure if I should or shouldn’t. Wider boards are pretty hard to come by especially if you’re picky like me.  ;)

Oh yeah, they’re 149s, and I’m using the soft red Independent top bushings and boiled stock bushings on bottom.

It’s the bomb!
I have 6 of them and have skated 2 so far.
Best shape to me , doesn’t feel like a 9, feels more like 8.5.
I’m giving an old one to a friend today to skate and we will see if he likes it as much as me.

We already know the Dwindle factory makes great decks so what you got it lose?
I’m a fat Siamese cat.

Pulled the trigger this morning while it was still on sale, I couldn't pass it up for $33.25.

Madness is making some interesting boards. Contemplating the one below. Anyone skate a Madness? Might buy one anyway just to look at.

Yeah, first half of my last name is Mambo and a lot of people call me that so it'd be a pretty neat novelty item. And of course Alexis is sick too, deserves the money.

Now I think your last name is Mamborino and nothing on this earth will change that
