Got an Amazon gift card and need help deciding on some wheels. I'm riding 52mm Conicals in 83b, the wider riding patch is nice but feel way too hard for general riding. Eyeing a radial shape for shits and giggles. My choices are:

Spitfire Radial Slims 51mm 99a
Spitfire Radial Slims 54mm 101b
Bones 52mm V1 83b

Usually skate 1 pre-fab park, slip and grip are important since I love slides on ledges.
Slide? Spitfire > Bones
Speed? Bones > Spitfire
That seems to be the consensus, right?

I'd run 99a. Would only suggest 101a if you only skate buttery, buttery smooth concrete. Or if you can deal with a bonejarring ride over rough stuff.

Thinking about getting some Vans Kyle Walkers for my next shoe once my Reynolds G6’s wear out. Really want some NB 533 but not for $90. There really aren’t enough good looking cupsole shoes out right now.

Unfortunately I’m a size 10.5 so finding anything decent in my size is usually either a bad color way or shoes that don’t sell well. I look on CCS just now and the Westgate 913 is on sale for $70 so that may be an option.

I've been cleaning the crap out of my cheap old bearings and I tried to resist the urge to buy good bearings, but I figured rolling on a skateboard is a pretty big part of my life, so I just went ahead and got some bones swiss. Easy decision once I thought about that way.

Where can I get a hold of these Rockin Ron Bearings? I see posts referencing them being faster than swiss but can't find em anywhere. Looks like his site is dead.

This thread about Rockin Ron started off pretty positive, but I'm pretty sure he went out of business by page 3.

So what im going to is get regs reds and take the guts out and add my super reds ceramic balls to ther new home.

I only need new shields.

I wish deluxe made a ceramic bearings. Im trying to only fuck with deluxe and toa more or less.

I fucks with ace but those days seem numbered.

Going to grab some dial tome wheels when my check comes tomorrow. People on my home shop are on these brands.

People i look up to. Thats not what skating is about but its what product is about.

Support the brands that feed the people you want to live.

Politics play a part too obviously. I want skating to stay in the streets. I want people to film a decent trick on an original spot.

Thats what i love about skating

I super agree with spending your money in an intentional way.
For me that means with the shop(s). On certain brands (strangelove is really dope to me)

I have a morbid curiosity with trying China's skateboard products. They do such a good/bad job at making imitations of the branded stuff:

They even matched the Bones wheels shapes: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.34.4044424fvUX0Bi&id=600044133529&ns=1&abbucket=5#detail

Local brand but I wouldn't trust the uerathane to not slip or flatspot: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.41.4044424fvUX0Bi&id=538881696305&ns=1&abbucket=5#detail

You won’t regret it. I’ve been skating some cheaper bearings and have been swapping them out every couple of weeks. With Swiss I don’t need to worry about them at all. Can’t wait to be back on them. There’s no point skating anything else.

Got a pair from a used setup I picked up a few weeks ago but they rolled terribly, probably need a good soak. So I'm on the look out for a bearing cleaning kit.

Is it stupid to get half cabs in 2020? Should I go the ‘pro’ version?

Also, is it worth going to titanium Indy 169s from standard?  Do you actually feel the difference?

Nope, not stupid. Half cabs are awesome and the pro version is super comfortable. Currently riding those and can’t say enough good things about them. Trying some Dunk lows next but I always regret it when I stray from Vans.

I have some Titanium 144’s that feel significantly lighter than my 149 standards but not so different than my 149 hollows. I haven’t weighed them all to see the actual weight differences but it seems like you would be better off getting 169 hollows and saving a couple bucks. I can’t speak to the durability differences yet though

Ok this is what i need.

I need two small black zip up hoodies. Im thinking of getting one butthole ditch one if still available.
I need something that's skate related but like kinda queer and punk.

I want to support queer skating that looks fucking crust not like bi curious cheerleader i want s.c.u.m. Militant gay.

I should make that. Crust punk plague lords that are gay Guerrilla Terror unit working for big gay.

Trying to take away the mens room from your schools and make your kids dress funny.

On the real though i need jeans.

Im like a mid 90s 501 guy but I wanted to try like ccs pants maybe. I hate soft stretch shit. Its baggy or skin tight or my crust pants which I been falling back on for like 7 years now.

Wranglers from the mid 90s.

So i need like small zip ups black and white. Hopefully some queer shit thats not rainbows and fucking pussycats.

And i need a lead on some cheap strong black denim because my goodwill and other spots got hip to vintage prices

Getting into some minor transtion skating lately and i just thought "i wonder if anybody sells lappers?"  Well socal sells them for pretty cheap and i already got rails i just have to install them.  Back to my old styles from waaaay back.  Im stoked to have rails goin again.  I like them way in.  Im not gonna use the lapper to come in from disasters, just insurance in case something caught.  I need a massive hip pad too prolly.  Big pillow.

Might be able to diy a lapper from a sheet of plastic.

I wanna try getting a longer board. I'm on a 32.25 right now, and it has me wanting more length. I'm about 6'0-6'1", I had madness in what I thought was because of wheelbase, and after all the recent posts about it (which some have been awesome), I'm thinking I need longer deck with at 14.5 wb or possibly lower.

Anyone fuck with longer boards 32.25+?

no experience with that deck but I was close to grabbing it during a holiday sale for the same reasons you mention. Over 6’ and wanted to try some longer deck and wheelbase options. And the obvious positive feedbacks of quasi here.

I’m 6’5” and had the same thought last spring so I bought a 33” Quasi (paired with Thunders.) The length was nice at first but I was over it pretty quick, it was just too much. That being said I’d like to pair a similarly shaped board with Aces and give it a go. I would have done it already but the wood on that Quasi was so awful it has me shook on buying another PS.

I skated plenty of 32.5 boards and never notice any big difference, WB is far more important to me in that area.

I'm over 6'2" and a longer (32"+) board with a shorter WB has been my key. I put myself through a lot of madness thinking I needed a huge WB, but it just made all my tricks rocket and cost me the 2 flip tricks that I (kind of barely) have.

I'm 6 5 and I used to, but now I'm back on the 32, 32.1 ish range and unwilling to go over 32.25. I'd say going to a true 33 might be a little bit extreme but going up to 32.5 ish might be good for you depending on what you like to skate. Keep in mind that Quasi measurements seem off at times. I just bought the 8.25x14.375x32.375 shape and although the width and wb are accurate, the length is more like a 32 or even 31.95 lol.
