I really hope that the gameplay will outshine all the modern gaming fuckery (microtransactions, battlepasses etc.) but it's EA, they'll definitely find a way to monetize the shit out of it.

okay that's actually sick. i honestly thought Skate 2 and 3 had decent transition, especially compared to the latest sims.

It didn't feel any better or any worse. If you have played skate 2 or 3 you have already played this. I can tell it's gonna be a shit show of micro transactions. There's a long long way to go till it's ready if this is where they truly are so far in development.

I wonder how microtransactioned out it will actually be. Right now the system of doing challenges and leveling up to get boards or whatever currency it is would be fine by me with premium stuff being an optional purchase. I would love if they didnt have to do microtransactions at all but it's 2024

Given the feel that every showing of this game has gotten and what I’ve seen of it - I will be surprised if it isn’t stuffed to the gills with microtransactions.

For a while I sort of expected it to be FtP, which would probably make the monetisations even worse but I’m holding out hope it will be a full release w/ career or story style SP mode.

Think about EA in general. Then think about their record on this subject. Take into consideration how many different things they could charge for. Examples being the obvious decks, wheels, grip, bearings, hardware, trucks. Then also clothes etc. You will be able of course be able to unlock some items through challenges and leveling up. I cannot say weather it will be a grubby cash grab scenario or not. I would not ever put it past this company. I can almost guarantee that there will be some sort of battle pass type thing tho in the end. We will see. Ill have to see if i get into more play tests.

Yep. We will see. If its free truly how will they make money off of it? EA isnt in the business of losing money especially on a game they shelved forever and really were stubborn on making. I would love to see it happen. I am still rooting for this game. I have seen countless devs say the same things and it didnt go that way.
