It's a well established way for larger non skate brands to nudge their way into the skate sphere. Approach the outliers, show them some love as though your looking after them. Wait for them to gain a little traction then work your way up through the flow/am/pro ranks until it seems like you've always been around.

Fuck Urban Outfitter's idea-thieving culture-vulture store.
These girls all rip and deserve a spotlight.
I saw some shit on facebook that was supposed to be like this, but the girls could barely ollie. All I could think was "there are some ripping girls out skating these days, but these aren't them."
Now this shit comes out and despite being from a totally shit company, they got the right group of women together to spotlight whats going on in women's skating.

Word. The idea of this whole thing is dope, but the company putting money into it is not, and that makes me even more dubious of if/how UO is going to get increasingly involved with skateboarding.

That said, good for these ladies, more power to them, hopefully this will get them support from within skating.

This seems like it's a thing with the Girl Skate Network crew. Then again most female skaters are on Meow and Hoopla. Pretty cool thing at the end of the day. Sure UO might take away street cred but, the goal is to spread the message.
