I don't even care that much about the game but the look on ronaldo's face when cech saved that shot made my day.

i agree with the pens..no team deserves to lose when it gets to the point in the match..but drogba was a fucking idiot slaping vidic right in the view of the ref, had he still been in the game, they would of won it in the shootout and ronaldo would of been public enemy #1 for all utd fans.

Make this a thread of it's own Alan.

Until then my predictions for today are:

czech rep. 1 : 1 Switzerland

Portugal 2 : 1 Turkey

I'm pulling for Austria and Germany of course. If it's Austria vs. Germany I go with Austria. I dont really see how Austria could possibly make it through group stage, but I can always hope.

Anyone have some links to watch it streaming online?  I've got to try and watch it at work.

edit:

I'm a person, by it I mean Champions League matches.

I hear that shit works, but I've never used it and you need to download things to access it so I don't know.

I'm so bummed, last year my classes were scheduled perfectly so I had a 2 hour lunch break right when the games started in the morning, this year class all the way through the games. At least once they're out of the group stage they replay the games later at night.

Against Cluj, obviously.

I have to say that I'm stoked on a shitload of unknowns participating this year. Anorthosis, Borisov(!), Cluj, Aalborg...up yours, UEFA!

that's typical stevie g right there, he whipped that ball into the opposite corner like nothing! i've seen a couple goals he's scored just like that and it amazes me every time. england's best midfielder and arguably the world imo.

Christ what a goal. I don't think he's the best midfielder, English or otherwise, but he certainly knows how to put his foot through 'em. And as a Liverpool fan I can't undermine all the times he bails the team out.

yeah they were awful in the game they had against villa without gerrard. lfc are my pick to win the premership this year, they've definitely got the squad to do it. sorry for my extreme bias towards him, i've been a fan since his youth days.
